i feel like this could’ve wrapped up way better if only there was an extra episode after he woke up again as himself, one where we can really see how he applied the lessons from his previous lives and the outcome of those. i fear the only moment where we got to see his character progression was when he realized there was no meaning in the reincarnations cause he finally wanted to live as himself, then we got to see how we had failed to recognize the magnitude of the pain he’d left behind once he was gone but, once again, i feel like we really needed another episode focused on YJ again to see his actual development, also to answer some of the questions about the other characters and how their fates could be affected by YJ knowing some key moments that could prevent their deaths ? i don’t know ? that kinda rendered the entire drama useless cause it’s like those people never really got to turn their lives around and the only one who’s mindset changed was YJ, but even then, we’re not sure how much it changed since we didn’t get that much insight. ALSO now that i am reading this comment section, i’m starting to feel bad for actually being moved by the message towards the end as a person who has seen herself in YJ’s place a few times in the past. i do agree that the ending was kinda disappointing given the abrupt PSA but i don’t /totally/ agree with the suicide shame discussion that’s going on here either. in the narrative, i could fill in some gaps with my own experience and that moved me to my core, i cried most of the time seeing myself in YJ’s place. i can see how that narrative could’ve been explored further by i don’t think it was all bad, can’t really explain it enough but i think the drama did well on the YJ focus. not on the general theme of suicidal ppl, like YEAH it had the potential to send a better message but it clearly didn’t and i think it’s because the conclusion got cut short (also cause this was sponsored by the SK government so it does feel like a long PSA campaign when you get to the very end, not to mention the religious motifs in part 1 with the themes of “deserving hell” bUT ? WELL ,, at least the acting and production quality was great) i still give it a 10/10 cause the format was well executed and a great proposal to include an amazing cast seamlessly
seo in guk’s evil laughter when he woke up after being mutilated was soooooo good omg i loved that so much, i wanna see him get more thriller roles !!! he did so well here overall,,, still gathering my thoughts on the whole thing but kudos to him, that was stellar !!
after the last scene everything else lost it's meaning cause he just undoned it. you better get that rich mans…
i mean, if he kept all his knowledge then he could anticipate things like park tae u hiring the plane crash or the painter being a serial killer… if he wanted to then he could become this sort of vigilante? and get the credit for himself (like when he said he felt like Anh Jihyung’s achievements had been meaningless because they weren’t actually attributed to him) buuuuut that would also put his life at high risk
This is a MASTERPIECE but some things has been bugging me for a while so I hope anyone can enlighten me.1. When…
the one i’m most curious and sad about was his mother, did she decide to take her life in her apartment? for a second when she called him from the hospital i thought she’d be terminally ill but then YJ said he lived as his mother for 32 more years so i can only assume she’d offed herself as well… sad
im glad in not the only one, ep1-4 was ok, girl exploring the new world.it started good but, later it turned into…
RIGHT ! i was so excited for it at the beginning cause it felt lighthearted and fresh but now it's just... not going anywhere for some reason lol i feel like they keep teasing us with the "repeated fate" thing but you are soooo right ! it does feel kinda incomplete, the writing feels kinda off now.
woah, it's shocking to see so many people disliking the parents' storylines, in my opinion: it was the best part of the show, second to the quality of the action scenes and obviously the plot and worldbuilding.
MY ADVICE: the drama dropped 8 episodes first so definitely binge watch those! but watch the rest of the eps until the finale with breaks in between... i wouldn't advise you to skip them, not only cause they're relevant to the plot and very telling of the character dynamics in present day, but they're also incredible at visual storytelling and feature some very emotional moments! so watch a couple and then go and touch grass, watch the sky, breathe some fresh air THEN come back and watch another set of 2, there's too many information in these flashback episodes so i get why you'd think they're boring (specially if you already have a favorite character) but every single story line from the past is so well written and performed by the amazing cast, so definitely, give it a go!
personally, it was my favorite show of 2023. i watched as it aired and now i am going for my second watch :)
was i the only one disappointed after ep 9? i left ep 10 on hold, i thought the cute relationship from the leads would make up for it but the "fate" thing is getting a bit repetitive yet nothing's happening :/ thoughts on dropping it? does it get better?
good revenge outcome but i feel like it's not worth the watch if you're watching for this plot. there are way better revenge/school dramas out there... as for the main couple, sorry, i couldn't like it at all, not even with the wholesome family additions of the student and professor towards the end. the fact that they met when he was a minor aND her student? not to mention, later in the drama they both acknowledged they started to develop feelings ever since they worked on the first equation in the classroom? yeah, that's a big no. even if the romantic gestures weren't that explicit, it was very uncomfortable to watch no matter how many time jumps they gave them as justification to end up together.
