"May my journey never end" "Because of you, I can find my dream" "Resting is to walk on a longer journey"
Watched in cinema. If you're looking for an intense storyline, then this is not. The cinematography made me fall in love with the beauty of Taiwan and Japan, especially Tainan and Tadami, and they brought iconic places to the big screen. Interesting spiritual / cultural elements are involved nicely, not to mention the 1995 Japanese movie Love Letter (and Slam Dunk!). Having two languages in such scenes personally makes me enjoy watching the movie.
Nothing much to say, but there are certain meaningful lines that might crave deeply to your mind. The ending was not something I expected, but it rather gave me relieved emotion about the slice of youthful 18 years old. Nervous, vague but tacit and faithful. I would recommend watching this alone and leaving some space for yourself to look back your old time.
As I read in a below comment.. the actors are Chinese mostly but the production is a collaboration between Taiwan…
The only Taiwanese thing I see here is the director, lol. Collaboration is one thing, but selected market is another thing, so China might be the target here. And normally I don't think the drama would be announced romance or bromance generally. Just my thought, still fingercross for something clearer as this production is confusing af.
That is because his name is translated into English, so it sounds weird. People in Mandarin-speaking countries…
Yes, Heng Jiu can be 恆久 beside his name 恆九, but Ever 9 hasn't told other students or He Li he is a robot, and he didn't even explain or write his name to them either. And yes, it would be weird if others knew his name is written either way I mentioned recently. 恆人, that is Heng Ren, I think that's the name Yi Ping's uncle uses to call Ever 9, I see Yi Ping call Heng Jiu more.
I laughed hard when He Li sneezed while Pi Ying and Ever 9 mentioned her in the conversation. Indeed a very Asian hunch 😂 But OMG, that malfuction lip make-up is just so... umcompleted?
Their height difference 😩😭🥵 Ever 9 height was just so perfect to lean on Ping's shoulder 😍😩Btw.…
That is because his name is translated into English, so it sounds weird. People in Mandarin-speaking countries or those who know Mandarin might find it normal as Heng Jiu is his "normal" name. Other characters in the drama only call him Heng Jiu, not Ever 9 tho.
Feeling totally hype for this Saturday. I have never become so excited for a BL drama like this, epsecially when it comes with real-deal cast selection 🤩
Ray Jiang (WBL, My Tooth Your Love, Unknown) is also directing this. It's scheduled to release in 2025.https://pavilion.taicca.tw/portfolio-item/the-young-gangster/
Gladly we got something new. Ray is really productive this year.
