I love Ying Lu in I'm nobody, 1st ep in for this drama and she does not disappoint; she is hilarious

tbh. I doubt if yy will be in season 2, if he does, I applaud him for it, Normally it's hard for season 2 to attract new viewers, and there will be people who drop the series after season 1, so unless season 1 is doing amazingly well, (or he got amazing payment lol) I doubt it, the cost seems to be too high for him (extra preparation, practicing, and demanding acting) compared to the potential return.
I think a better option is to do a spin-off series, just focus on may be the romance and story line of hl and 1 female in the novel (hopefully, miss Mo) with a little bit of fighting here and there, with the trend of idol romantic wuxie, I think that may do well.

Sorry, that does not what you get from a drama viewer only. There is no analysis or background scene. Looks like you are taking all the drama and some other sources of information together to come to that points about the character of Cao Jun. Drama should be able to stand alone, if viewers need to read book to understand the drama then that's a big problem.

This movie to me is like a game character vlog, or as the other name suggested a record of a guy's journey. The story telling is very diary-based, so nothing is really a mystery or plot twist, like first he goes here, then he collects that item, then he fights boss 1 , then he reads that books, then he buys items, then he upgrades. For Cao Jun, very limited screen time, limited room to really act, no character development, I would say not worth it. Even the main character himself, limited character development or deep relationship development. So if you are into this style of storytelling, training, fighting, and upgrading, then go ahead, if you are looking for something other than that, I would recommend to go for something else.

also training then fighting: Douluo Continent 2021 , Battle Through the Heavens 2018. Both have 2nd seasons, but I think 1st seasons are the best

same here, I start this drama for yy and the visual effects and end up watching bc of miss Mo

I heard (from some review channels) that he was criticized in previous projects for changing the scripts and trying to be overly pretty (polished makeup and stuffs) in every scene, which does not suit the characters and situations. Maybe they are trying to beat the allegations here.

Same here, cheer every time she pops up. and disagree with op that she is useless, she is far from it, she brings some emotions and humane out of HL's character and gives viewers a break from his NPC collector mode. From storytelling perspectives, she also brings some more meaningful purpose for his actions.

I love Miss Mo & HL's scenes so much. Miss Mo does not even appear a lot in this drama, but every scene of her & HL is impactful

Agree, this FL's acting is too weak, she has so many rooms to perform, yet it is dissatisfying to watch.

I guess the characters of 1 part can be a support in another part (or may not reappear at all). The original story is a very long and big one running through different generations. This part 1 is only a relatively small part of 1 villan/support-ish in the original story. I have not checked the next parts, not sure which story/timeline they want to tell next

It feels a bit short, also the story was written a long time ago, so the characters are not the super trendy perfect idol type of characters that we see frequently today. I guess if you are looking for an idol wuxia, then it does not hit the mark. I'm not surprised if people are complaining about these characters. If you are into fighting/training, it is not also not that amazing neither, if you are into romance, then it's a bit light, if you know the script, then you may not like how now the story is told from different perspectives.
