I'm dropping this at episode 46 when the emperor mentioned abdicating his throne to be with the empress. I mean, wtf! While some might perceive it as romantic, I personally think it's nonsensical, especially considering she's his in-law. I was invested in the hope that the ML would be the one to rescue and preserve the Han dynasty. I should have known history better. Despite the show's efforts to depict the ML as a virtuous figure, the notion of a 400-year dynasty coming to an end under his reign is incredibly frustrating.

Originally, I planned to watch it due to its top rating, but reconsidered when I read a comment mentioning a sad ending. I tend to get too emotionally invested in these dramas, and I'm not a fan of the impact that downbeat conclusions have on me. I'm weak like that lol
