Growth, Grief, and the Weight of Family

I loved this drama so much. Reborn really pulls you in emotionally, especially through its characters and the way it handles growth, trauma, and family.

Qiao Qingyu’s character development was one of my favorite parts. Watching her slowly gain confidence and come into her own felt so rewarding. It wasn’t rushed or unrealistic; you could really feel everything she went through, shaping who she became.

At the same time, justice for Qiao Beiyu. Her story was heartbreaking, and it’s hard not to feel anger at everything she endured. She deserved so much better.

Ming Sheng, on the other hand, was such a standout. He’s honestly a whole “green forest”, just genuinely loving, supportive, and consistent. The way he cared for Qingyu made their relationship feel sincere and comforting, especially in such a heavy story.

The family dynamics, though, were incredibly difficult to watch. Qingyu’s mother is a complicated character; you can see that she suffered too, and by the end, it’s hard not to feel some sympathy for her. But at the same time, there’s still resentment for what she put her children through. That’s what makes it feel so real: with parents, you can recognize the harm, but still feel obligated to love them.

The father was just frustrating. Not even in a complex way, he was simply a coward. His inability to step up and protect his family made everything worse, and it’s hard not to wish he had done better.

Overall, the adults in this show were honestly infuriating, and that highlights how much the younger characters had to endure.

My only real complaint is the ending. After everything, I really wish we got at least one more episode of Qingyu and Ming Sheng just being happy and in love. That would have been the emotional closure I needed.

Still, Reborn is a powerful and emotional drama that stays with you.
