Lu Yuxiao is actually one of my favorite actresses too! I’ve seen a couple of her dramas and I really enjoy her acting—there’s no doubt she’s incredibly beautiful and talented. But for me, Tian Xiwei feels like the perfect choice for Yun Li because she and Yun Li share many similarities. Since Folding Moon is based on a novel that also has a manhua adaptation, if you’ve read the manhua, you might see what I mean. When I first saw Yun Li in the manhua, the face that instantly came to my mind was Tian Xiwei’s. She just gives off that exact Yun Li vibe, as if she’s the real-life version of her. :)

Of course, I will definitely share my opinion when it is released.

We already know there’s a Hidden Love Universe — where Hidden Love, The First Frost, and When I Meet the Moon exist in the same timeline and characters are connected (Sang Zhi, Sang Yan, Duan Jiaxu, Fu Shi Ze, etc.).

But now, with new adaptations like "Hidden Love for You", a thought crosses my mind:
👉 What if there isn’t just one Hidden Love world… but many?

Each drama could be one layer of reality, one version of events — same core story, but different actors, moods, emotions, and interpretations.
It’s like every time Zhu Yi’s novel is adapted, a new parallel universe is created — a “what if” dimension.

Maybe in one world, Sang Zhi is played by Zhao Lusi. In another, she has a different face, voice, and vibe — but her story is still about a secret love, still centered around Duan Jiaxu (played by someone else).

Just imagine:

One universe gives us deep continuity — cameos, callbacks, and linked destinies.

Another gives us fresh interpretations, like “what if things happened just a little differently?”


Maybe, just maybe... we aren’t watching remakes. We’re watching alternate timelines.

Personally, I found the beginning of the novel quite enjoyable to read! It starts off as a slow burn and leans more towards slice-of-life, so if you’re used to the faster pacing of Hidden Love or The First Frost, the start might feel a little slower. But once you're immersed, it becomes emotionally rewarding.

Hidden Love is still my favorite in the universe, but I actually liked Folding Moon (When I Meet the Moon) more than The First Frost. It focuses more on inner emotions and healing rather than drama or big plot twists.All three have their own charm, but Folding Moon touched me in a different way.While The First Frost has a bit more fun and romantic tension, Folding Moon goes deeper into inner emotions and healing. I like both for different reasons, but Hidden Love remains my favorite.Honestly, I really love all three dramas in the Hidden Love universe — Hidden Love, The First Frost, and Folding Moon (When I Meet the Moon).
Each one has its own charm and emotional depth.

🔹 Hidden Love will always be my favorite because of its heart-fluttering romance and unforgettable characters.
🔹 The First Frost had that sweet push-and-pull romance with strong emotional tension — I really enjoyed Sang Yan and Wen Yifan’s chemistry.
🔹 Folding Moon (When I Meet the Moon) is more about quiet healing and inner emotions. It has a calm, introspective vibe, and Fu Shizhe’s character adds a deep emotional layer to the story.

All three stories touched me in different ways.
They don’t need to compete — I just feel lucky that we got to experience such beautiful characters and stories from Zhu Yi’s Hidden Love universe. 🌸

Do keep in mind that Folding Moon has fewer cross-universe interactions compared to the other two, which makes sense — since HL and TFF focus on the Sang siblings. But there are connections: for example, Fu Zhengchu (who once chased Sang Zhi in HL) appears here, and Sang Yan’s bar is briefly featured too.

As for Fu Shizhe’s cold personality, there’s a heartbreaking reason behind it (spoiler alert):

His childhood best friend, Jiang Yun, died by suicide while they were both doing their PhDs. Fu Shizhe had noticed something was wrong but didn’t know how serious it was. Jiang Yun’s death happened just after they had a conversation — and in the same building — which left Fu Shizhe with deep guilt and emotional scars. He also discovered Jiang Yun’s diary after his death, revealing all the pressure, jealousy, and mental struggles he had been hiding.

Knowing this background makes Fu Shizhe’s quiet, reserved nature so much more understandable. His character arc is really about healing and learning to connect again."When Fu Shizhe realizes that he truly loves Yun Li, the journey that follows — the way he slowly wins her heart — is portrayed in such a tender and beautiful way. Every moment, every gesture reflects his deep emotions. Their story isn't just about love, but also about healing and understanding."

Overall, it’s a quiet but beautiful novel — definitely worth reading if you enjoy slow healing stories with emotional depth.

Honestly, I also thought at first that Hidden Love For You was just going to be a copy-paste version of the original. I felt that way especially after watching the trailer — everything looked too similar.
But once I actually started watching the drama, I realized that there are quite a few new and refreshing elements in it. They’re clearly following the manhua more closely, and that makes it feel like a different experience altogether. So now I’m genuinely curious to see what unique scenes they’ll include next!

To be honest, I didn’t like it at first either. When I saw the trailer, everything looked like a direct copy-paste of Hidden Love — the costumes, the scenes, even small things like the fox doll. I felt a bit disappointed because it didn’t seem to offer anything new.

But then I read some people’s comments saying that yes, Hidden Love is a masterpiece and it will always have a special place in our hearts — no doubt about that. But that doesn’t mean we should hate every remake just because it’s a remake of something we love.

So I decided to give this version a fair shot with an open mind… and honestly, I actually liked it. I’m not saying I liked it as much as the original Hidden Love, but in its own way, this drama is cute, sweet, and enjoyable.

I started it with zero expectations, and to my surprise, it turned out to be better than I thought. So yes, I do like Hidden Love For You — and I also respect the new actors who are sincerely giving their best. 💫
