Right, I know! (since we speak from our experience lol!) Me too I’m a die-hard rom-com drama fan too! I’ve been watching all kind of rom-com throughout my life lol. Maybe that’s partly why I too was struggling to figure out the “love” in marriage :)
It’s nice knowing my idea of love holds true for other too 😊. And thank you for reading :)

Thank you for sharing! I can feel his sincerity and compassion towards acting and the people around him in the letter. That is probably how he can move viewers so much with each of his characters!
There is not many English translated material about him on Internet, so I’m really thankful for all your sharing!😊❤️

I saw some posts on Instagram saying that the movie will be available on Internet platform from today May 31st but only in China😭. Not sure if it’s true but I’m praying for it to be available on international broadcasting platform soon! They should be able to do it easily since the movie is already premiered overseas (meaning subtitle should also be available)

I started this drama with Very HIGH expectations.. But what a disappointment!!! I feel it's for Teenagers I want…
I’m a working mom and still like it perfectly. I think teenagers might find it boring since it is quite a realistic portrayal of modern romance.
This is not about the drama but I’m not sure what attributes to “deep and perfect relationship” for you. Not any couple has to go through life-threatening ordeals or challenged by powerful love triangle to prove they are meant for each other.
Many of us may have the idea that love and marriage has to feel “right and fated” while it is more of a conscious choice of two individuals. Encounter may feel fateful but love and marriage is certainly not. To me it is more about timing, common values and mutual effort to support and accompany each other in the face of life; and such dedication to maintain the relationships and stick together through thick and thin is what defines love. Adoration and affection may be immediate and momentous while love requires more continuous effort. My point is what else can be considered “deep” if not the will and dedication to accompany each other for life despite being at rock bottom with almost nothing ? Just my two cents about love and relationship lol

Many people in the comments recently are talking about how they don't like this drama which is ok, everyone has…
I did binge watch though but still like it a lot lol! I guess it’s just a matter of reference. It may also be because many are looking for those romance with lots of ups and downs or dramatic conflicts that they find it boring. But it is a rather realistic portrayal of romance in modern society imo. Not anyone has to go through great ordeal like heartbreaking breakup, dramatic love triangle or encountered serial killers, terminal diseases etc. lol to find their other one.
What I love is how the characters find support in each other presence to overcome challenges to be together. The story revolving their snooker club is also very heartwarming. Great scenery and gorgeous casts with splendid performance is also a plus point :)
On Blossoms in Adversity May 30, 2024
It was a good watch for me but rather than the romance element, I found the FL character and the story of Hua family much more appealing and compelling. Though there are plot holes and certain characters were added just to create the conflicts, overall I really love how the FL was portrayed. Not only smart but brave enough to stand against fate and even the emperor over and over again. Despite being trampled upon, she still treats other poor souls kind enough. I also love how the writer makes her and her family members grows closer and deepens their bond through the waves of adversity towards the end of the drama; in contrast to how they are loosely connected and rather indifferent at the beginning. This somehow reminds us of the value of family again in modern time when we easily take family for granted and do not appreciate the bond as family enough. The story is also inspirational for those who feel disheartened or discouraged by the hardships and challenges in life.
Btw it is the first drama with HYT that I actually finished lol! That is probably thanks to the amazing casts and the story. I can’t really say he’s improving but it looks like he did try hard to do the action scenes at least.
I have never read the novel but I watched the adaptation with Tony Leung when I was young. This is my most favorite story from Jin Yong.
Compared to that version, this ver is very beautifully done so far! Impressive fighting scenes and gorgeous cinematography and amazing scenery! I love how the childhood part is included here too. And I really love the opening theme! Still, I can’t get over the actor and actress playing ML 😭and FL; so I dropped after ep 25ish. I can’t pinpoint why 😅 maybe it’s just personal reference lol! Maybe I’ll give it another try sometime later haha

It was a good movie, it was touching and had an interesting way of telling the story. I cared for the mother very…
If you are familiar with Koreeda’s movie, you’ll know that he tends to present and focus the story as a whole to emphasize the message and the issue he wants to portray rather than focusing on individual character within the story. I think by focusing on the story as a whole, he shifts the blame/the cause on the problematic society as a whole rather than putting the blame on any individual of the story.
Besides, I think he doesnt want to just make a tear-jerker movie but essentially a movie with humanity message that unfailingly touches us at the heart.
Still, he is a master at building up emotion in an ‘effortless’ manner with his ever-so-natural narration we don’t feel like watching a movie at all but we essentially feel for the characters very deep like how you feel about Yori.
On Draw the Line May 13, 2024
This drama deserves better rating! It is a very engaging and undeniably good drama about how judges and law defending people, drawing the line btw good and bad. I have no interest in law and I thought the story is gonna be dry and monotonous, but soon realized I was very wrong lol. I watched it for Cheng Yi but was captivated by the stories in no time. This is not an idol or romance drama, but more of an occupational one where the focus is on the story as a whole rather than the characters in it.
The drama is a series of small stories offering different perspectives on common social issues like work place interpersonal relationships, harassment, morality, how internet is used to control public opinion, relationships btw spouses, parent-child, female career aspects, personal choices and values vs society norms etc. These stories are smartly written to keep us engaged and bring insights to the mentioned issues as well as how they affect modern relationships. There is little romance but is well executed and I find it quite cute. Another thing to notice that Cheng Yi character wont get physically hurt here lol. I hope he Willy play in more modern dramas like this! My only complaint is the bad subtitle @.@ almost as google translate.

This story is best appreciated by people who have read the trilogy in Chinese and have an understanding of Chinese…
Well-said! One needs certain level of understanding of Chinese history and Eastern culture to appreciate the story and universe built by Jin Yong. I haven’t watched this adaptation but I am quite certain many Eastern philosophy is embedded here and you need to look at the whole story with all characters involved, not just the female lead and the male lead.
On Stand by Me May 11, 2024
Title Stand by Me
It is definitely not a fast-paced drama but has its own charm about court politics with events slowly unfolds giving insights about the characters involved, their past that leads to their present course of action and how they react when facing crisis. I’d say I had the same kind of feeling like when I was watching Nirvana in Fire (these 2dramas are different but you get the general picture and the feeling when watching dramas about court politics).
It requires certain patience, and it is absolutely not a light-hearted watch; so it might not be for everyone. There is romance element though, which certainly alleviates the dullness of politics and makes the story more appealing for me. I like the overall sensual mood of the frames here, the color, the music, the restraint and solemnity that adheres to court dramas and of course the way Cheng Yi portrayed his character (he always grasps his characters and expresses them very well).
Overall, if you are tolerant of court politics drama, this is definitely a good watch with solid story, good fighting scenes, beautiful frames, and a tad of heartache (I think you can’t watch a drama with Cheng Yi and without heartache lol).

Tell me, what does Godzilla represents in Minus One?This is something that I disliked about this movie, this version…
I believe Godzilla represents disaster made by mankind (just as nuclear power) and the fight with Godzilla somewhat represents our helplessness in countering our own creation when it goes out of control. If you are familiar with Japan society, the Earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 shakes one of Japan biggest nuclear power plant it almost sent Tokyo and the whole country to a nuclear disaster. Prior to the Earthquake, the nuclear plant was believed to be considerably safe and has proper contingency plant in the event of earthquake; but it was apparently not prepared enough for such strong earthquake as at that time, making it almost impossible to shut down the plant which might have lead to a nuclear explosion, the worst nightmare we can imagine. In the end they made it through by sheer luck. Still, it is still one of the worst nightmare for Japanese and the fear and helplessness people felt then was something unforgettable. Even to date, many areas surrounding Fukushima nuclear plant is still restricted due to high nuclear radiation index, making many natives unable to return to their homeland. So I believe this movie serves as a reminder of the lurking danger of nuclear power in the world we live in.
On Godzilla Minus One May 9, 2024
Surprisingly good! I only watched it because it’s available on Prime and it won the Oscar for visual effect but it turns out to be quite engaging and well-done. The story is nothing new but the setting is Japan post WWII, which helps to create an excellent background for the emotional and touching story of the characters. And this touching story sets it apart from other Godzilla movie I’ve watched before and makes it easy to build a heroic theme for the character in the movie.
I’m not a fan of the leads but the ML did a good job here. The visual is fantastic deserving all the hype for winning the Oscar.
I believe there are many layers of meaning embedded into Godzilla itself, not just as a horrendous monster but its creation may just be from mankind hideous research (just as nuclear power), and human helplessness in countering our own creation when it goes out of control, leaving us much to contemplate about the lurking danger of the world we live in.
Overall a good watch even if you are not a fan of monster and Godzilla :)
