I absolutely loved Double Helix—it’s now officially in my top 10!
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something beyond just a simple, lighthearted drama.
At the beginning, I was completely charmed by Lu Fang. I really loved the actor’s performance; he was so handsome, playful, funny, and compelling as he pursued his love interest. Some of the scenes were definitely mature, but they fit the tone well. However, I struggled with how Yi Chen simply gave up on him so many times. I wasn’t surprised that Lu Fang was angry, but his obsession with Yi Chen became quite intense—borderline crazy. While there were moments where it was admittedly 'hot,' I honestly wouldn't want to be in Yi Chen’s shoes...
The portrayal of bipolar disorder had a deep emotional impact on me. My mother suffered from it, and our family went through some very difficult times, so watching this felt very real. Seeing the improvement after hospitalization mirrored our own experience, which made the series hit something personal in me (haha sorry for sharing boring things with you readers).
This isn’t a typical 'easy-watching' show; it’s a gripping drama that tackles complex, mature, and sometimes quite dark themes. It was refreshing to see this kind of complicated relationship actually have a happy ending, even though we know that in real life, toxic dynamics rarely end that way. Overall, a powerful and memorable series that I truly loved watching.
Sorn is the most toxic and biggest red flag ive ever seen......but looking the way he does my mind immediately…
Actually I think he is not that bad, just teases our little Jun a little to much lol. In my view he's just in love but hasn't realized yet. This series is wild lol. I would say that Ming from My Stand-In was definitely red flag. Haha let's see where this show goes.
