The thing is, it's not easy to get a hit drama this year because the market is cold...plus his dramas will be on iqiyi which is the worst performer this year out of the 3 big platforms. Even now people are makings bets on douban about which drama will be the saving grace for iqiyi this year because their dramas have been performing very badly... So it's still worrying for TWOT sigh ...

He's on the rise lately. His 2 modern dramas this year all got good ratings and response. A lot of C-YB became fans of XK after GE 🙃. His acting skill is decent, he's also handsome, tall and has good backing company, he will surely become top traffic sooner or later.

The problem is they're not actually newbies, they're just bad at acting, they only got the roles because certain platforms want to push their favorites.

Iqiyi don't promote their dramas much until 1-2 weeks before the official broadcast. GE only started promotion recently and same with other recent Iqiyi dramas...
