I think I mainly stopped watching because there is just too many options and I have gotten picky after years of consuming everything remotely BL xD

WHAT A RIDE
My BL-phase started back in 2014/2015 when the first BLs came out (Lovesick, Sotus, Make it Right - oh my god those where times. Horrible subtitles, no legal way to watch, pretty bad quality... anywayyy) and I kind of stopped watching in 2020 (have only watched Not Me since then, which I DO NOT regret <3) But this one...
I started because of an edit of Sand being sassy
I got hooked by the sexy scenes
I stayed for the MESSSSS (and FirstKhaos acting - I might watch more series with them??)
I finished satisfied by an ending that just made so much sense <3

Also I don't know whether I hope for a season 2? The ending was just really nice, but had loose ends (Mix turning up, Sand's father, and others that would be spoilers though) which might hint to another season?
And I would love to see more of this cast... But I'm also really scared of any writer touching these relationships again XD
Maybe a more spin-offy thing with characters that aren't coupled up yet as the main cast? With still the happy couples from this season being happy in between the intense mess that would undoubtedly commence again? :D

but now this year we already got The Half of It on Netflix and now this :D
So if anyone knows more GL please tell me, but the problem is I have the following criteria:
I dont want it to be a "gay for the tomboy" plot
I dont like that overly sexual stuff
Also please happy end or at least open with hope of a second season/movie
ugh I'm so happy. Maybe this will open the door for more GL in the future :D I mean six years ago there was barely BL and if you were looking for well produced BL you could be looking for a loong time

try the guardian (mainland chinese series). it's on viki. i'm only on ep5 (of 40) but it is absolutely gorgeous. the acting is superb and the chemistry is already out of this world. and it has an actual storyline.

mark is the lead in love mechanics and he does a great job!

I love Type! He makes me laugh every single time! And Man as well! Oof I believe this is truly the first ever series where I love both the main and the side couple.
Just with Tine and Sarawat this was already in my top 5 BLs. But ManType is giving this whole thing a boost. Wow. I am happy. :)

Guys please give love mechanics a chance! It's only the first episode so far but the acting is really nice and it's not so confusing. Also in the novel there was apparently a rape to love plot but they took that out for the series, what I am very greatful for, otherwise I couldn't watch it.

I agree, but I think there is still room for improvement. This might work with a strong partner as YSG, but humans tend to give in if you bug them for a while. Saying no over and over to a loved one is dang hard. I believe, that the best thing would be to have a conversation and say "I would love to try it, but I will not bug you further as the most important part for me is that you enjoy it too. Please tell me when you are ready <3" and then let the topic rest. I know that this needs a lot of self control especially when it comes to horny young adults. But yeah^^

I belive that it also had to do with the target group being very specific. It's people that like bl. And since there aren't many bl yet, the difference in taste isn't that big, as we don't have many dramas to develop our taste on. Bow with there being more and more bl, people start to dislike certain plot lines or prefer one style over another. For example I remember totally loving Love sick when it came out. But now there are many things I criticise. Like the " im only gay for you" or the acting, or the cringe kisses. But bl is new and grows with us. So all the New bl are within the best we have ever seen, thus we give them a very high rating. Shounen on the other hand doesn't develop that much anymore. The target group is huge and there are many subgenres and many tastes. So people view them more critically overall and there will always be many people who like a different type of Shounen, so even very good ones will get mediocre ratings from those.

Oof. I love that Yu Shi Gu takes initiative now.
I am not sure what the mom meant at the end. Whether she is planning to get YSG to stop this. But I don't really think she wants that. I dunno. She seems so loving. I think she will root for her son at the end.
Plus. The good thing is: Once Yu Shi Gu decided on something he won't back down so easily. I don't think that they are able to trick him into stopping it all.
