Yup. These dramas keep pushing female empowerment and women's freedom. They treat it like the highest virtue women should chase. That feminist mindset is everywhere. It is slowly destroying every society that takes it in.
And China and South Korea are wondering why their birthrates are collapsing. When you tell women that their own arbitrary happiness, freedom, and empowerment come first, they neglect their duties as wives and mothers. Those roles are what keep the species going.
I'm loving this show, but Xie Jia Yu's naivety is starting to bug me. It's cute up to a point, yet it's a real character flaw I hope they address. She's pure-hearted and wants to help her friends, fine. But she has to get realistic sometime. Walking up to the Eagle King alone and revealing her ability was straight-up stupid. She doesn't seem to be learning anything from it, at least for now. She's often very confident when lecturing Xiao Wu Yi, but is she learning anything when Xiao Wu Yi scolds her? Also, I hate the "freedom to roam" theme that many of these shows like to push. How about a protagonist who wishes to uphold family, duty, and sacrifice, instead? Much better values.
oof, Mao's watching his superficial puppy love getting cooked. This drama does an excellent job of showing the difference between superficial puppy love and love created through emotional development. While the politics is nice, the romance is well-crafted.

They often use the novel as a vague reference to write an almost brand-new story. I suspect this is the case because these dramas have to follow a strict generic formula.

The worst part is the fact that they made her continue to interact with him after he said Xiu Yuan was a demon who deserved to die. Like, who wrote this garbage?
Tong Zhou tells Li Fei that Xiu Yuan deserved to die to her face, and she brushes it off and continues interacting with him like he never said that. In the preview for the next episode, she calls him her closest friend. Like WTF? lol This is so badly written.
