Title Queen of Tears Spoiler
I think I missed the detail on why Eunseong so obsessed with Haein? was there story behind?
When they were children, he helped Hae In when a dog chased and attacked her. All the adults came running to check in on Hae In and make a big deal about getting her to the hospital, and Hae In was the only one who saw Eun Seong had gotten hurt while saving her. She turned back for him and wrapped her handkerchief around his bleeding knee and said some kind words to him.

I think for a love-starved child like him, that single moment of kindness, attention, and care from another human being was like being in sunlight after always walking in cold shade. She was maybe the only human in his life to treat him like a full human being deserving of care and attention. So he latched onto her.

Then in college they mentioned briefly that he started creating situations where Hae In would be forced back to him (she described it as "it's like you pushed me into a ditch and then wanted to claim you saved me by pulling me out," or something like that). So over time as he realized she didn't like him romantically he started acting out to try to get her attention and love, and his acting out grew and grew until we get this monstrous Eun Seong who is so desperate to hold on to the only person who acknowledged his humanity that he would kill her rather than let her be happy.

After the age reveal I feel like Cho A doesn’t have any other options. I don’t think she would date someone…
I think Jae Hyung and Yoon Jae are 30-- 30 vs 35 is honestly not a bad age gap. Although it seems like she is really averse to dating younger.

I agree on the dating shows and age thing-- the balance is always off (either someone is way older than the rest of the group, way younger than the rest of the group, or just not enough around an acceptable dating range)

I hope jh tells jiyeon that he's not interested in her( in a good way) cause we can see that she's falling too…
I really wish he and Se Seung had won-- so curious about who he would have chosen if he'd had first choice

Ep 8 Conclusions

- Jung Sub doesn't know the difference between a real crush/interest, a fleeting crush, and excitement simply from flirting or new attention. He thinks they're all the same and it shows. It's fine-- it's a normal phase for most people. Just unfortunate for him that it's happening on a tv program lol

- It is very hard for the people in the house to read what's going on around them. Their guesses are all over the place!

- I predicted Jae Hyung wasn't romantically interested in Joo Yeon. I still think he has a secret interest/curiosity about ChoA (did y'all see how he tried to catch her attention when she came home and then looked around to see who she was nodding at?? Ugh, please let them at least talk next ep!)

- I'm starting to think there's only one couple who could possibly emerge from this show. I like most of the cast individually, but they don't line up well as couples haha-- and they're all crossing wires! Jung Sub and Cheol Hyun are into Ji Won. Ji Won and Joo Yeon are into Jae Hyung. Jae Hyung's up in the air until he gets more date time. Yoon Ha and Yoon Jae may be clinging together to avoid the rest of the house. And Cho A and Young Woo are interested but lacking actual time together to spell it out more clearly.

The episodes are long (yay) but seriously feels like nothing's happening. I wish the producers would pick up the pace of the story a little bit or give us 2 episodes at once (I can dream...)

I'm doing the Van Damme split between the CAxYW ship and CAxJH ships rn-- I just need to see at least one long date between CAxJH so I can decide which to hop on haha

I really need Cheol Hyeon to relinquish his captains hat because this man is steering us into bad weather! I almost yelled when he immediately took up Jung Sub's cause haha

The good thing is I don't think Cho A will be seriously swayed by it. She seems really interested in Young Woo and he has showed up in the texts reliably while Jung Sub has been running around willy nilly. Ugh, can't wait for next ep!

ep 7 was so precious and beautiful !JS ran to CA's bro to make him his ally and bro fell for it... he should have…
I hate that Jung Sub thinks the texts are more of a polite thing ("I worked so hard all day why didn't she text me to say thank you for driving?") instead of going hardcore for the person you like. He's playing games by only texting the person he thinks will text him back, which makes it difficult to tell who he has sincere feelings for (if anyone). I admire Young Woo and Cho A for sticking with their hearts even on the days they weren't sure how the other person felt.

Se Seung sent a polite text to Young Woo before and immediately regretted it and realized the texts are not a time to be unserious or calculating-- wish Jung Sub would realize that as well!

Feeling very strange and ambiguous after episode 6

I think Jung Sub is approaching this experience from a perspective that will probably not yield good results. Yes, you should be proactive with the person you're interested in, but being proactive and trying too hard are very different things. You can still be yourself when you're proactive, but trying too hard means pretending to be and do things that are not you. I just wish he would be less "x + y must equal z."

I don't think Jae Hyung has romantic feelings for Ju Yeon (at least, not yet). He keeps mentioning he needs to figure out his feelings. My honest thought is if it's not Cho A, there might not be a good match for him in the house.

I also get the feeling there might not be an exceptionally good match for Cheol Hyeon (dear god the haircut! It looks so cute in the interview segments but I cannot believe a hairdresser let him walk out with the initial cut!). I'm turning it over in my head. It sucks to think as a viewer but it's okay because the house is not the end all be all of their romantic possibilities.

I really wish they would release two episodes at a time! Everyone's so fascinating and the pacing is good, but we only get to see one major event at a time.

“Skipping stone meeting a summer lake” how poetic ✨ I was honestly disappointed as I really want to see…
Me too-- I was hoping Cheol Hyeon would choose Jae Hyung for the date, but alas. I think we'll be able to see them interact more on one of the trips though. In a preview trailer, Cho A, Ju Yeon, Jae Hyung, and Jung Sub seem to be having a double date. Very intriguing set of four lol

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Watching rn and ran here as Jae Hyung nervously said into the phone that he wants to talk more with Cho A. How fickle my heart-- suddenly I've jumped ship to Jae Hyung <-> Cho A hahaha They actually would be so cute together-- he's so eccentric and volatile in a positive way while she's so warm and centered. Like a skipping stone meeting a summer lake. What an interesting and chaotic good couple they would make-- and probably endlessly curious about each other

Okay, going back to finish the rest of Ep 5 hahah

edit: Back for my final impressions of ep 5

1st, I am so shocked and intrigued by the idea of Jae Hyung and Cho A that I almost didn't mind that Cho A did not go on a single date this episode. Almost >:(

2nd, Jung Sub thinks so much. He's very analytical. It's not a bad characteristic but it does rub me the wrong way as a viewer. I wish he would just let go and feeeeellll. I'm so exasperated watching him

3rd, I had a feeling Young Woo would still text Cho A. During the date with Ji Won, he seemed different than when he was with Cho A-- still himself but the romantic part was missing even though he was still playful and semi-flirting.

4th, I will no longer trust the previews. They had me heated with the C-U-T-E and "shot to my heart" soundbites!

5, BamBam is so goodlooking wow!

like many others here, I was wondering why choa hadnt taken time off work since she always seems to be out of…
Ohhh, that explains so much! I was wondering about the part where Cho A mentioned the producers were scrambling because they hadn't realized Cho A/ Cheol Hyeon didn't have parents to be involved in the show. I kept thinking it was a bit sloppy for them not to properly interview the siblings, but if they were supposed to come in later after the photo album etc., that makes a lot of sense.

I don't know if I can take 15-16 episodes though, my heart

Came back after rewatching the preview for ep 5-- Cheol Hyun reminds me of a younger/more playful Kim Jae Wook! No wonder I immediately liked him hahaha. Anyone else think so too?

cheolhyun and Seseung will be more compatible than Sesung with Jung Sub as they have the same personality and…
I'm very curious to see how they'll feel after their date. I couldn't see them meshing well together but thinking on it now, they both seem sincere and earnest. Se Seung who immediately reads through the gifted book might appreciate someone like Cheol Hyeon who is straightforward and thinks deeply on life. He might be able to give her more open assurance than Jung Sub
On My Sibling's Romance Mar 24, 2024
Cho A is at a disadvantage because of her work hours-- I'm just a viewer but it gives me so much anxiety to see the rest of the house together while she's out for so long. I really hope she gets a day off soon to spend properly. Episode 4 was annoying-- I didn't like JiWon (?)'s vibe and I know it was partly because I'm already invested in Cho A <-> Yeon Woo and partly because there's no context for who she is so we're just left making assumptions

I thought they would introduce both siblings at once so I did not appreciate how much time they spent on just one. The whole episode was dominated by someone who the audience has no context for vs the people we've already grown to enjoy seeing on screen. I don't think there was really a need for a new person to be inserted either. The vibe of this show seemed so much more deep and mature than other dating shows, yet now there's this artificial tension. I don't want the next episode to be dominated by the brother, but lowkey might feel better if we can see Cho A spend more time with everyone. Really like Cheol Hyeon and Cho A-- it's amazing how warm and enthusiastic they are (also, anyone can tell they're siblings haha! Their eyes might as well be copy paste)
