The ep reveals "A total of 9 dates have been arranged, with some having chosen each other."
The instructions they received said "2 days before the final choice. The last date is a secret date. You can choose up to TWO dates who you secretly want to meet. The dates will be completely confidential. You absolutely cannot reveal you date to anyone or ask anyone about theirs."
With the limitation of two people, and the reveal that 9 dates are arranged to occur, it might go something like this:
There are a few dates that are almost inevitable at this point:
1. YW <--> JW 2. JH <--> JW 3. SS <--> JS 4. YJ <--> YH
Then our stubborn one sided lovers:
5. CH --> JW 6. JY --> JH (please girl, surprise me by doing something different)
Then the murky side, not sure about these:
7. CA --> JH 8. CA --> YJ 9. ???????
I'm fairly convinced with the first 6 and CA is going on at least one of those dates, so that leaves at least one slot (potentially two) that will be a complete surprise.
I hate hate HATE how YW pulled aside ChoA for another convo. "Let's do it again" bro WHAT?! Have some respect! All his actions like this really paint him as a d*****bag. I've been trying to be even-keeled about him, but he really acts and speaks in a way that is not respectful of other people. It's like he speaks down to everyone
edit: Also Patricia looks absolutely gorgeous! edit2: Clearly I'm a fan of ChoA, I just want to say this is the most comfortable/open she's appeared all show! Now that everything is clear, and CheolHyun is suddenly a detective, seems like a weight is off her shoulders. Sucks that it's only two days left
Seeing the comments from the latest episode, makes me want to skip and wait for it to finish. Time to jump again…
Wait, what?? Is JaeCho ship looking like it may leave friendship cove? I'm running to this episode even though I know being on this ship for romance is lowkey delusional hahah
I was one of the people who really liked this drama when it started out and even left a comment supporting it.…
I feel the same-- such a great concept ruined! The first few episodes were great but they blew right past the perfect setting/story (I don't understand why it couldn't have revolved around Ki Baek as an announcer and maybe Woo Joo, who was shown to be not having a great time professionally, partnering up with him to create a new kind of news show?)
So disappointed. Chemistry, good plot, and humor all disappeared
This drama is 50 dramas in one (and we're only on ep 10)-- I'm getting whiplash from all the different things happening that would usually be whole dramas in themselves. It feels like they have a million different writers speedrunning whole dramas each episode:
- ML gets hit with the frankly speaking disease and quits his announcer job (a story arc of him leaving the studio and starting doing his own thing would have been a drama in itself) - ML goes on reality dating show produced by FL (there actually is another drama with this plot lmao) - After dating show leads are trying to navigate their careers (again, could be a whole drama)
And now we've got the MLs family getting into an accident and once again probably changing the trajectory of the show. I just don't understand what's going on here. Again, we are only on ep 10 and have seen three or four plots that could be entire dramas themselves-- started so good and funny but now I'm sorely disappointed
edit: okay, now I'm seeing there's 12 eps total so this will end next week. My god, I don't know how they're going to do it. So many different things going on:
- ML will need to be cured of frank speaking, heal relationship with his family, and resolve his worklife - FL will need to get her stable position back and heal all her trauma with mom - the other PD will need to figure out if she wants to date or not and spending more time with her son - ML's ex needs to face backlash - the coworker and his daughter's story needs to be resolved
Record of Youth is somehow like that. I feel that the story of the main lead there (Park Bo Geum) is like the…
Record of Youth is a little different from what I'm thinking-- I would want to see a really full cast of second/side characters in a 30 Rock/Gaus Electronics type format. My hype cast would be like Choi Soo Kyung, Hwang Bo Ra, Go Gyu Pil, Kim Byung-Chul, Kim Mi-Kyung-- I love seeing them on screen and they are so skilled!
I want to follow them around and see their (character's) second-lead life behind the cameras, like a fake comedy documentary lol
Does anyone else feel like the past two three years have been The Rise of the Second Lead? So many actors who played second or side characters are stepping into more central roles and it's AMAZING! I lowkey want to see a drama that centers around the backstage drama of popular second/side actors
Shining For One ThingSomeday or One DayResetDay of Becoming YouMy Love Mix-Up (It's a queer story)Make a WishTime…
Haha noooo-- would have been very UNrighteous wrath! Everyone has their own preferences. I'm already looking through your list trying to decide a drama to watch next😂
We have two overlapping! My list is not numbered though because I can never decide the ranks lmao: - Gaus Electronics…
Agreed! It kind of felt like the only purpose of S2 was to get Naksu and Jang Uk together and the rest was filler to make it happen, which is fine but lacks when compared to all the incredible story lines (romantic and otherwise) of S1
We have two overlapping! My list is not numbered though because I can never decide the ranks lmao: - Gaus Electronics…
S1 (it was just too funny and I love Jung So Min!) but honestly I like both seasons (S2 story just feels a little bit lower stakes and less dimensional compared to S1)
What are everyones top 5 kdramas? Mine are :1. Lovely Runner (10/10)2. Alchemy of Souls Season 1 (10/10) - used…
We have two overlapping! My list is not numbered though because I can never decide the ranks lmao:
- Gaus Electronics - Alchemy of Souls - Mr. Queen - Our Beloved Summer - Because This is My First Life
I want to put Lovely Runner and Flower of Evil somewhere in there too-- maybe I can no longer have a top five and will have to consider only a top 7 haha
edit: I almost forgot SamDal-Ri!!! Okay, top 8 from now on
Okay, this screenwriter has officially become a favorite. I loved True Beauty (hilarious and warm) but thought there was a slight misbalance between the magnetism of the ML and SML.
The writer fixed the misbalance in this story to where we're always rooting for the ML (did anyone notice how she kind of mixed in some of the silly traits from True Beauty SML to make an incredible ML in this drama?). Her trademark seems to be writing that makes you split your sides laughing out loud, sweet characters, and healthy relationships between all leads. Rooting for the screenwriter and excited to see more from her!
(And, of course, shout out to the OG material of the web novel!)

I'm not even watching this show as a dating show anymore, it's officially an exposé on how men manipulate women
