Title Family Matters Spoiler
ep5- intense !!
I was on the edge of my seat with my whole body tensed! My jaw literally dropped open when the dad did the move with the knife-- and when Ji Ho went beast mode-- and also the entire scene when Yeon Su and Gil Ga were wrestling. Okay, pretty much the whole second half of the episode I was gaping at the screen lmao
On Family Matters Dec 21, 2024
Whoah whoah whoah woah WOW😳 just finished ep 5 and this is without a doubt the BEST show of the year-- my god! They got everything right so far: incredible blood and gore; the strange characters (Bae Doo Na as Yeong Su is unmatched, and actually every single member of the family is captivating in their own way. They did an incredible job bringing these characters to life, and the writers did an incredible job writing them).

The stakes are actually BELIEVABLE and high, and the evildoers actually get got satisfactorily. I am so excited for the final episode omg

I hope she acts again. Talent shouldnt be wasted.
Wait, did you hear something? Did she say she's not acting anymore? Oh man, I really hope to see her in more shows-- she's one of my favorite actors :(

Person Choo Ja Hyun
Please giver her a good leading role (and by leading I mean LEADING, not as part of ensemble cast). She is too cool and intriguing and magnetizing on screen not to have a proper lead role yet.

It getting better 👍🏽
I'm waiting too. After Third Marriage I'm too scarred to keep up with daily dramas in real time

these daily dramas are really not for the weak hearted. im gonna suffer from an aortic aneurysm one of these days…
Hahaha, I was just thinking that! My blood pressure going through the roof watching agh!

I really have to wonder about casting choices we are supposed to believe that there is only a few years between…
Didn't they say there's at least 7 years between them? I think the leads are meant to be 34/35 ish, so that would put 2ML at 27/28ish. The actor who plays 2ML is mid-20s (24)

Title Love Your Enemy Spoiler
someone needs to put cha ji hye in the asylum fr
Did you see that she's walking behind Seok Ji Won's crazy dad in the previews for ep 8? It's looking like she's gonna get even worse ugh
On Love Your Enemy Dec 15, 2024
Episode 7 was beyond my expectations omg-- I'm can already tell it's an episode I'm going to rewatch a lot.. Also, the actress who plays the young Yoon Ji Won is amazing! Even though she was doing only a voice over at the end, I could hear so many emotions in her voice. Really looking forward to seeing both the young Ji Wons in future dramas

My dear, please watch wonderful days featuring Kim hee sun and Lee Seo-Jin. They basically broke up due to family…
For me, the change in her behavior shows those vulnerabilities: life broke her spunky, just spirit and now she's not confident to stand up for things in her life like the school and her granddad's fight.

I didn't say only the people I know have experienced trauma, or that I have a better understanding. I said because of what I know, I can see how the trauma plays out in the character of the FL. There are different kinds of reactions to trauma. Not everyone is going to show the same kind of vulnerability. She is clearly still affected based on her actions.

Why would she say she didn't mean it? Again, the only one clinging is ML. If FL had it her way, they wouldn't be around each other. She's been pretty clear. She got hurt, dealt with the hurt, and now just wants her ex to go away. That's why I can't write much about what she's doing for the relationship-- she doesn't actively want it! That will probably change now that the kiss made her feel some things, but up to this point she doesn't want reconciliation and is firm about not wanting her ex around.

It sounds like you want both of them to be madly tryling to get with each other, but that's just not the storyline. The ML wants to reconcile, for sure, but up to this point FL DOES NOT. How can you blame her for not wanting to reconcile with an ex? I don't get that

I'm not trying to convince you of anything btw, just answering your question. I enjoy the show because I feel the FL does have depth and I like how they're handling the writing of her character. I like the storyline where one person is trying to get closer and the other is (up to now) trying to get further away.

Now that she is thinking about the kiss, probably FL will stop pushing him away. At which point they will both be actively trying to get closer to each other and more developments can happen.

Anyway, it's unfortunate you're not really enjoying the drama/FL. Hopefully it will become more enjoyable for you or another drama comes out that you can enjoy

Who would say "You have no right to act like this since you were the one dumped me?" Technically, the FL can't say it because she dumped him-- her last words to him were "Never contact me again." And she has been very clear with him now that she doesn't want him around. So she's not gonna be the one to say that-- it wouldn't make sense.

It doesn't make sense for ML to say it either. Yes he got dumped, but FL is very clear that she doesn't want him around. So he's getting treated exactly like someone would treat an ex they dumped and don't want to reconnect with? I don't see the inconsistency there.

If you don't find it believable you don't find it believable. I can explain why I find it believable:

If you look at their actions, the only one clinging on is ML. He's the one always seeking her out, always trying to be close to her. He is the one who actively wants to get back together, but the problem is he thinks she does not like him at all. Think about it, from his experience, she brutally broke up with him, last words she said were "never contact me again," and even when his family went through so much she (as far as he knows) never made any effort to reconnect. He hears her parents died and goes to the hospital to check in on her, but can't actually make himself known because he still thinks she hates him now.

Fast forward to present, he goes to the school and she just walks by like she doesn't know him and everything they had means nothing. Never once does he get any indication that she might like him. So, as far as he knows, she still hates him. What is he supposed to do with his feelings? He just wants to be close to her but can't figure out a good way to do it because she doesn't let him in. All the ridiculous things he's doing ARE his outburst. Let me tell you, as soon as he realizes she does like him, that man is going all out no holds barred. He just needs a little bit of hope

Then, on FL's side, all the family deaths, work betrayal, money issues, and breaking off contact with ML broke her spirit. She used to be so spunky and outspoken, believing that doing the moral thing will always be the choice that rewards your life, now she has experienced the opposite. Do you think the young her would be dragging her grandad away from the fight? No, she would be standing right beside him fighting actively for their school. The young her would never suggest they run away and live/work elsewhere-- she would stick around and stick up for the town and her family. The younger her wouldn't even be a gym teacher in the first place. The writers give so many signs that her experiences hurt and changed her profoundly.

The synopsis explains that the "Mad Dog" inside her went to sleep and is being reawakened by the sudden reunion with the past (ML) that she never got to conclude.

Also, people don't have to act hurt outwardly to be hurt inside. It can manifest in other ways, including like the things I listed above, FL's actions do show that she is hurt. She changed her behavior to protect herself. She even tells SML that she's not a nice person, she's just a coward who doesn't want to deal with the backlash of saying no to people.

Some of the nicest, warmest people I know are the one's suffering deeply. You would never know that they had complicated pasts or hurtful life if they didn't tell you. Because of the kind of people I have encountered in my own life, I can understand the FL and the ML.

Again, I think it's my own experiences and the people I've met who act similarly (not completely the same, this is a romcom after all lol) that make me understand this drama.

I mean makjang are unrealistic and romcoms are at least a little closer to realistic. The relationship between the leads in Love Your Enemy is realistic to me. Maybe you approach your relationships differently, but personally all the crazy outbursts and lack of emotional control in makjangs like Wonderful Days are too much for me.

I understand the emotions in this drama and find them believable based on my own experiences with people. It is fine if you don't

Finally someone mature with a brain!! Also people keep saying that 'all this childishness for just 3 months' but…
That's a great point-- I didn't even realize they really do know each other for more years than they've been apart. I can't imagine that much history with someone just suddenly being cut off 😭

I think what you want is a makjang with over the top relationship that doesn't exist in real life, if you are pointing to Wonderful Days as a good drama. If you want a drama where things blow up over the top, I recommend you find a makjang again. Love Your Enemy is not a makjang or melo-- it's a romcom.

This is the first drama where I fully understand the misunderstanding. Both had their hearts WRECKED at a young age:

> ML: going through a health scare with his dad, family going broke as a camel, and just had to move away from everything and everyone he grew up with, including the girl he's in love with who just broke up with him and doesn't have his current contact, yet he still went to find her and give her a HANDMADE scarf, only to see that "she" breaks their three knock rule AND TURNS THE LIGHT OFF!!! He waits all night, in the cold, weeping, thinking she's inside the house willfully ignoring him. Y'all, that is f'ing brutal!! You think you'd be okay after that?? To be consistently rejected so many times while you and your family are at your lowest point?

>& FL: was dealing with the expected angst of seeing another girl confess to her boyfriend (he really did not have to smile like that receiving the confession lmao), then his dad suffers some major health issue AT HER HOUSE and gets carted off in an ambulance. She sees her boyfriend but can't speak with him, tries to get in contact with him but the phone number he used to have is no longer connected. She has no address information, no hospital information, no nothing! All she can do is wait for him to contact her but (thanks to her envious friend) she never hears from him. Then when the first snow comes, she ditches school, ditches her family, and hops that bus straight to Seoul for her man! She's at the observatory all night, shivering, alone, far from home, waiting for him! Her heart must have frozen and shattered at that point.

Both leads come away from that sad, sad night (where they both technically kept their promises. Just dang, what timing that the day had two meanings because of the snow) broken, thinking the other person purposefully wants nothing to do with them. That is a deep, deep hurt.

Then, on top of that, FL later goes through that crazy ass lawsuit from her lecherous boss, and her parents die. Not only her parents die but turns out dad was embezzling from grandfather (which I don't believe for a minute-- had to be that guy who calls her grandfather "dad") so she has all sorts of complex feelings about it. Then her and her grandfather go broke. She almost exits herself from the world! Idk about y'all, but I would need a good decade doing nothing but recovering. Yet she has to work and keep going for herself and her grandfather.

I gotta give it to the writers. Usually I hate misunderstandings because they can be so easily resolved, but this is extremely believable. I've experienced rifts in relationships in the past, and it is AWKWARD AS HELL trying to talk about what happened in order to heal the relationship. I'm not surprised these two are unable to do so (especially since they both feel they have the whole story).

I am looking forward to the misunderstanding being cleared up though. My prediction is: episode 7 they "date" by the end and have to start talking about the past for real; episode 8 they start realizing the misunderstandings are not misunderstandings but malicious acts; episode 9 total hell breaks loose dealing with the friend; episode 10 - 11 they join forces to take down the evil dad; episode 12 happy happy end end.

And hopefully somewhere in there FL's dad is vindicated, the school nurse reveals he is either the uncle or the dad, etc. etc.

Title Stranger
I'm relatively new to watching Korean dramas. Watched this one, enjoyed it a lot and got really enthusiastic about…
Have you watched Flower of Evil? If you're into a kind of crime thriller-esque thing, that one is top of my top. One of the more unique premises, great actors, and just overall welldone imo
