Just watched the preview up until ep31, extremely EXITED for the upcoming reveal of FX's identity... Ye Qing Mei's son identity will have him more enemies now..hahahaha... assasination, revealing identity, and so many more actions... I guess being a loyal fan I am not disappointed, seriously not disappointed at all... The more episodes appear, the more I am fascinated by the screenwriter... and so far, the production value (even tho downgraded) is not disappointing... the props are so cool... the camera in s2 kinda shows being real (not a drama), what's the words yah? I think I see it as NOT being dramatic, kinda like it too as of the s1, just giving a different vibe, that's all (not better not worse, just different)...the acting is better too, esp for the Li Yun Rui, she's not being stiff anymore, her colors are better now, not just being dark and mysterious as in s1... Soooooooo, I guess there's no need to compare the two seasons, they have their own themes and purposes... PS: for haters, just enjoy the drama, I'm sure you guys are curious too, right? hahahahaha

Variation in the plots are needed too, even tho I can relate that many aspects will still depict the same as the novel... And the screenwriter (Wang Juan) did a good job regarding the drama, a little bit twist that needed him 5 years of writing, still AMAZE me... And also, just info for the reader in this forum, S2 is a connector for the S3 too, that is why they directly make the S3 confirm after this S2 airs, we will not wait long for S3 to air... And that is maybe why S2 feels like a "hang", but not a conclusion...
As Eldest Princes is the main villain - screenwriters are keeping her out of our view - so it will be a surprise…

Don't worry too much friend, people will judge no matter what they see... it's their "right" to judge, but a good drama will always be recognized no matter what... the scale difficulties of acts... the good props... the good story line... the precise step by step revelation... are still played huge roles in deciding good dramas. I can be your devil's advocate... no need to explain or being mad by anything to haters....
if you want some badass female lead dramas, then try WHO RULES THE WORLD & A JOURNEY TO LOVE....
A Journey to Love is a good drama, but only the half of the episodes is worth it, the 2nd half that filled with deaths of ML confidants was criticized being poor written story line, forced ending, and I can't agree more.
