It might be true. I checked douban rating of the most popular 2023 series HIDDEN LOVE which is rated 9.0 on MDL. but I was shocked seeing only 6.7 rating on douban. How is it possible? The drama was big hit and still on 1st place on youku.

I'm little bit worried because of the director. Throughout his career, there are rarely any popular dramas. I'm bit scared seeing douban ratings of all the previous dramas he directed. Scores are too low. Everyone loves me, love is sweet wasn't a hit show in china. Thankfully the story and the actors are great in this drama so i hope it'll be hit. He is currently directing chen feiyu's new modern romance drama, don't know what's gonna happen with that drama.

Yes, he is currently filming a modern romance drama "Eat Run Fall In Love" which started filming on May 21st. So it might wrap up in late August or early
September because the filming period is 110 days.

If it becomes official, filming might start in September as Chen Feiyu is currently filming another drama that will probably end by the end of August. But nothing can be said for sure until it's officially announced. It's just rumor.
