Edit : apparently, my review also got attacked. All negative reviews of this drama have been getting attacked. They say that a drama cannot affect you. But, you can see how romanticising rapists can affect younger audience. Any difference of opinion or NO is not tolerated.

There is a coordinated campaign in certain websites...how do I say this here....its the Karens! The karens have started to attack rational and reasonable criticism of this drama and in that bubble, they are pretty much asking people to attack anyone that recognises the abuse in this by calling them homophobic or ironically saying that they have internalised mysogyny if they say anything bad about this drama.

One comment on a certain negative review here on MDL also says "This drama is above your stupid consent" and that tells you all about how hostile the campaigning for this drama is.

I have a gut feeling that this will be different because our ML has already seen hell. There's a silver lining to tortured Males in cdramas

His alter ego's army called nightwalkers ...and both these armies have a bickering chemistry together. So, they are my favs.

Why do you think we are still here?? She's one complicated FL. We love her, she has iconic dialogues, she's relatable...we understand her...we hate her stubbornness and guts but we can still sympathize with her because she wins us over again!! Especially in 30th episode. She's funny, stubborn...wayy too prideful for her own good but this drama wouldn't have any spice if she wasn't like that. Its difficult to hold audience with 40 ep pacing. 40 ep have very slow pacing so...the character is worth it!!

Omg girl...bear with it because the joy we have in the recent episode after that torture is hitting us all sooo well. Lemme spoil you very little. The FL acts as a Lawyer to ML against the second ML. There's a lot more with some extremely important character completing their arc in the drama.

Ikr...Nightwalkers are the best part of the drama. I know people talk about romantic chemistry more but I believe the bromance is TOP NOTCH in this drama. Its soo freakin good.

Bailu looked like that even when she was 18. She looks her age and not 40 at all...in any way. She is a mature beauty

This drama is sooo good bud but it is not digested easily. Give it some time. It is definitely dramatic but it suits the genre

I keep coming back here ...because even after a whopping 8.7 rating (which was a lot at thagt time), I feel like this drama is underrated.
Its sooo freakin good. The characters are so beautifully flawed. 😭❣️

Yeah...know that you will pulling your hair out in the upcoming episodes (after 17) but then adoring a lot of couples and characters by ep 30.
There's also a Huge twist ahead ...a new character introduction in the upcoming episodes (after 30)

I get that but in palace politics, sometimes, sons killed their fathers. If he sided with the ML, there was a greater chance of people siding with the uncle as well. The uncle's influence would have significantly increased if people thought NH's family is treated well (NH 's mom was not cutting ties with him).

...that would have accelerated his uncle's plans for OVERTHROWING THE KING.

Besides, the uncle was definitely the culprit and the mother is also to blame here because she was not smart enough to understand that her brother is committing assassinations within the palace. Even if it wasn't his fault, Kings were seen as "weak" for not giving tough punishments to the entire "family" of people who committed sins.

The other empress's family could have held DEEP GRUDGES against NH and attempted his assasination.

In old times, they had the concept of punishing entire families to show that justice has been done which is commonly shown in all cdramas.

Actually, its not the character development. Its the 40 episode format which the audience doesn't have patience for anymore. 5-6 years ago, this would have been a fast paced cdrama for me. Now, dramas have reduved their episodes even more like kdramas have 12 episodes now and there's minis as well.

Her stance had changed in many ways...when she asked for NH's help and stufg but considering how stubborn she is, it would take a big shock to push her to a realisation.

I am at the very recent episode, and I am happy and excited at how the characters are right now but you know what? I know that if this was a 24 episode drama, the same thing could have been one of the most popular drama of this year.

I believe there is ...more to the emperor. The way he has been behaving... he always secretly had a bias for the ML.

Where we are right now, soo many things are soo different and we are much excited about a lot of stuff... other than romance as well.
Cdramas with 40 eps take theit time with development but...they end up being quite memorable as well

I also really love the second couple. Its refreshing to see an extremely smart 2nd FL so whipped in love for a former thief... she just attacked him there. Didn't she? 😅
