In any other drama setting her actions would endanger the whole Cheng family....the drama moves on. she accepts betrothal with LBY. Comes home and again another fight with mother. Daughter felt her self esteem got hurt. Mother doesn't accept Lou Yao and now doesn't accept LBY she cries. I am confused...the mother didn't accept Lou Yao in the starting but she did accept him afterwards? and even there she was right too? Her fear is right that the first family would create problems for her, she was right there. The mother also said that both of you guys may be are not in love..and to be frank the way they broke up really made me think that they are not in love. so where exactly is she wrong there? Meh.....not feeling it.

Even the FL's mother knows it, obviously many others would know it too and He general must know it too. And they somehow made FL give up on him and even convinced him...lmao. FL completely convinced Lou Yao to sacrifice his life, well its not hers, she can say anything. These two obviously didn't love each other enough. Or did they even love each other at all? If they loved each other then why not equal wives like Lou Yao's mother suggested? He zhao jun clearly told that she doesn't love Lou Yao and only need him for protection. Then wouldn't she also agree for the proposal? Everything that's taking place is forced plot....
After the 16th ep, I kind of felt bad for the mother. Then I am trying to analyze who is actually worse, the mother or father? Is the mother bad. Yes, for sure. she was bad in so many occasions. I just rewatched the first 10 episodes and the mother was bad in multiple occasions but what she was doing - to teach FL, she was right. The FL gets away with so many things in the first 10 episodes, like pushing the princess's servant into the canal. Like what is it to you whatever the princess is planning, don't you also do all sorts of mischiefs? And the bridge thing, she has no reason to do that at all. she already did more negatives to the antagonists already. Why to do this? And what about all the other ladies? They are innocent right. Why should they be schemed against? The plot made it such that everyone, I mean everyone who knows that she did it was on her side. If you actually think deeper, that could have easily gone wrong. I wonder what would have happened if someone who got to know about it is not on her side. Things could have easily blown out of proportion. I wonder if her dad can handle it or Lin Buyi has to interfere to save her. The grand mother said the correct thing at that time while informing her parents, if you can't handle the consequences, then don't do it. But even for this one, the mother was portrayed as the villain and the FL as the victim.
