i also prefer modern ones .. i absolutely avoid xianxia s..its not like i didnt try ,none even got close to kdrama…
When it comes to cdramas, I only watch the modern ones too because I can't feel the emotion they're portraying if not their own voices. If it's kdramas, I don't have any complaints but then, the more I watch kdrama the more picky I become so chinese/thai/japanese are kinda escape for my high standard 😅

I've been seeing lots of clips of this drama recently and I think it looks good. I'm now debating whether to watch this or not because I haven't watched any historical chinese dramas (only modern ones) because I've heard that most historical chinese dramas are dubbed.
