Honestly, the backstory between Shen Xihe (Qingzhi) and Prince Xin is a great idea for a second chance romance. Hope somebody steals it for another drama lol.

Huge fan of the "Suffering Male Lead" trope, but I hope they resolve their misunderstandings in the next two episodes cuz it's been over a minute.

I agree with you on the movie bit because I’d tune in for a movie with a 3.5+ on Letterboxd without thinking twice. But, unfortunately, it is true that most dramas that turn out to be lackluster do get rated around 7.5 on here, because a vast majority of members here rate 6 and above on most dramas.

Well, you might generally rate dramas lower than usual, but this show already has negative reviews, so it's quite obvious why it started with a 7.7, I've seen trashier dramas get rated higher even with mediocre premieres. My comment was just to state that people should give it a go if healing dramas are their thing, because for a lot of people, a rating below 7.8 is a turn-off.

People are so weird about real-life age gaps in the cast every time the main actress is older than the main actor. There have been multiple dramas where the ML is significantly older than the FL, and nobody gaf. Not to mention that actresses like Tian Xiwei and Tan Songyun look so much younger than their co-stars who are around the same age, and I don’t see anybody complaining about how old those men look. Give it a rest to these absurd double standards.

Four episodes out, and the drama is pretty entertaining. The female lead goes from a dumbass to pretty fucking cunning right after regressing, but she isn't always winning easy, and that makes it more thrilling to watch cuz you don't know when she'll nail it, or when she's gonna get her ass whooped. The romance trope is personally good to me because the ML is her father's subordinate, and the black sheep/unfavored child of his family who still hasn't made it (It's not so interesting if the ML is already respected, and powerful from the start of the drama even if he had a difficult childhood, it becomes so cliché), and this is also an "I will die protecting her" trope right off the bat, and seems like it will get super angsty (Cmiiw cuz I haven't read the novel) down the line. The chemistry is good too.

For anybody who hasn't started this yet, there isn't any particular reason for it to be rated this low so far (just two episodes out), so feel free to give it a go.


It's in a village setting (no particular thrill, formidable villains, or anything yet), and the male lead is a realistic depiction of an average man (minus all the red flags real men have) rather than a typical "perfect" male lead who's always one step ahead in the game. The female lead is similar to most K-drama female leads (not necessarily a bad thing), and both the leads have good chemistry with each other.

Seems to be an emotional, healing drama, so if you fw that, please go ahead.

You're right! I sense it too. This drama is so healing. It's generally not the kinda stuff I'd watch, but I tuned in for Chae Wonbin, and now I don't want this to be sad. 😭

Prolly cuz it's comedy

I'm surprised a lot of people don't like this. This is literally better than few of the other highly rated rom-coms airing right now. No filler scenes, and it's super funny. The main characters' interactions are hilarious, and now that the episodes have progressed, it's super cute. Anyway, ig this is a 'he falls first' trope which is so satisfying considering how he's been in the first three episodes 😭 I seriously hope they improve the show upon each episode, rather than going downhill after episode 8, or something.

This is completely missing the mark as a mystery drama. The only reason I'm still watching it is because I loved the original Ice World. I watched it long ago, but I've found out that it's not available online with subtitles anymore. If anybody finds it, please watch it and share the link here so I can rewatch. It was a haunting mystery to its bones, the entire atmosphere of the drama was built that way. This is so lacklustre in comparison. They could've made this perfect, but they messed up in all ways.

I love that he's such a green flag. He's ruthless, calculating, and cunning on the battlefield, but also very kind and absolutely sweet to the people around him. He's constantly in awe of Simu's abilities, and isn't insecure about it. It's honestly refreshing to watch a male lead who's not a b*tch to the female lead at any point of time, but isn't boring or a pushover either.

P.S I just love how OP Simu is from the get-go, and doesn't have to magically find her powers in the middle or towards the end of the show. She's electrifying, and formidable, but also a just character which makes her the perfect main character.

Will find peace when this man does a drama where he's the main lead. C'mon, Her Private Life was so fun.
