And for last thing I wanna say... Suige’s mother did try to take him away from the palace, but ultimately she failed. It wasn’t about rejecting his role as heir — it was a desperate attempt to protect her children from danger. She risked everything for them, but it didn’t work, and she paid a heavy price for it, being pushed aside and treated like she didn’t matter.
From the emperor’s perspective, though, the situation never really got out of hand. Suige stayed in the palace, so he probably felt like he still had the situation under control.

Tell me if I misunderstood your messages hehe 😌

Well… that’s it. I could go more into detail, but I’m well aware that everyone has their own opinions and preferences. Have a great day/evening 🌆

As for last question...
I don’t think it’s that black-and-white. It’s not that “no monarch would ever allow his heir to leave.” In this situation, the emperor probably felt like he still had everything under control. Suige was young, things hadn’t escalated yet, and he likely believed he could always bring him back when the time came. To him, it wasn’t losing his heir — just giving him some space while thinking the bigger picture was still in his hands.

I think you’re actually pointing out something interesting here, but drawing the wrong conclusion from it.
You’re right that Wei Qingyu didn’t just “let Suige choose” — she clearly raised him with the idea that he shouldn’t become king. And the emperor, on the other hand, expected him to carry the burden of the throne.
That’s exactly why Suige ends up so conflicted later. He wasn’t raised with a clear path. He grew up between two completely opposite ideologies — one telling him to reject power, the other telling him it’s his duty.
So to me, this doesn’t show gaslighting or bad writing. It shows that Suige was shaped by two adults projecting their own beliefs onto him. His hesitation and confusion later make sense because of that.

To be honest, a lot of people have different opinions, right? Some might like this drama for various reasons, while others might dislike it. But at the end of the day, it all depends on a person’s tastes and preferences.

I’ve seen a lot of people insulting others for liking certain dramas, which I think is very unprofessional (😂).

You can read reviews, see what’s good about the drama and what isn’t, and then decide whether it’s worth your time.

Remember, you can still enjoy a drama even if you’re aware of its flaws.
(Just ignore comments where people are just hating for sake of hating because it might ruin your watching experience.)

Have a fun!

Wei Qingyu is so stupid and deserves to die. She's the real villain, and listening to her makes the mc stupid.…
biased and superficial in character understanding.
U keep judging feng suige with real world logic instead of looking at his internal motivations and narrative role.
I see where you’re coming from about the MC being passive and some of the plot choices feeling frustrating — I agree that at times it’s easy to get annoyed at the pacing or the inaction,
But I think you’re misreading Feng Suige a bit — his hesitation isn’t just stupidity or cowardice. The story is written around his moral struggle. He doesn’t want to seize power because he’s trying to avoid becoming a monster like those around him, which is core to his character.
Also, blaming Wei Qingyu for making him ‘stupid’ ignores that he ultimately chooses his own path. Her advice might influence him, but the MC’s decisions come from his internal conflict, not just her manipulation.
A lot of your critique measures the story by historical or strategic logic, but the story prioritizes character themes over realism. If we judge it purely by political logic, many of the choices look dumb — but they’re intentional to show the MC’s struggle.
So I think it’s less about the characters being stupid and more about them being written for a story that explores morality, choice, and restraint under pressure.
