This drama could have been amazing, especially since Yaya always excels in period lakorns. However, I can’t get past the choice of the male lead. Honestly, I find Tor to be an overrated and unattractive actor. His voice does not suit such a serious role at all, and it’s hard to take him seriously. While he may photograph well, his performance in dramas feels mediocre at best. I really wanted to love this series, but I wish they had cast someone who not only acts well but also has a strong onscreen presence.
At the end, when Shen Li was being consoled by her master, she said, 'Master, I've lost the two people whom I shouldn't have lost.' Is she referring to her dad, Feng Lai, and Xing Zhi, or Xing Zhi and Mo Fang? I can't help but feel sorry for Mo Fang. He loved Shen Li wholeheartedly, but she didn't reciprocate in the end, and it seems like he was forgotten by everyone :( I was hoping to see a reincarnation of him ..
