Slow burn drama indeed. ML actor delivered the character with good bearing, demeanor, emotions conveyed in his eyes. I can't say the same about FL, I don't care for the character, but I understand this is a romance show so...it is at it is. I'm not fond of damsel in distress and can't save herself.
Late for the party here but, one thing that stood out about this series is the plot and acting. The main focus was the protrayed characters by the actors. Thr actors ans actresses were able to convey the characters of their roles. If you're not an avid east asian films fan, you'll only notice Zhang Ziyi, and the others you won't notice. Unlike the newer and younger actors and shows released nowadays, this focused more on the acting skills vs today's overly metrosexual actors and heavy make up effects.
Bai Lu’s character is annoying, and so is the love triangle like another commenter mentioned. The plot started off uninteresting up until the mid 20’s and above episodes. Even then as painful it was to watch, I kept on and finished. 2/5, would not recommend
I like the story line and how the characters developed towards each other. I just came across this series browsing through Prime Videos. It reminds me of Departures (Japanese movie) has the same plot about death and burial tradition and mourning.
FL could’ve been better with her acting. For someone who’s 22 years old in the series , she acted like 15 years old. And he’s 38 in the series. But they have good chemistry though. ML looks exactly like my ex lmaoo
