Kenny is so manly and handsome. He has that strong daddy aura. I really enjoy watching Cdramas with mature men instead of idol dramas where the actors look too thin and young. I also hope Bai Lu can be paired with actors like Kenny. She has a mature and slightly masculine charm that really fits well with older, more manly actors.

The romance here isn’t the main focus, but the chemistry between the leads is really good. I’d still say it was satisfying for me, though I enjoyed it more as a family-oriented story.
Out of all Bailu’s new release dramas and I’ve watched them all, this one’s on top. The whole cast is good and the plot has no trash at all. Such a good drama! It really deserves more viewers and higher ratings. I love the Flower Street family, and I wish I was part of them.

They rushed the ending, trying to cram all the tragic scenes in…sadly. There was no mourning or closure from their fallout. I also wanted to see that, especially since they had a sisterly bond after all
They crammed everything into the last episodes. There was too much comedy in the middle, then suddenly all the ‘climax’ moments happened at the end. The villains’ deaths felt pointless and should’ve been more painful, considering the suffering they caused the other characters. Despite all this, I still love the drama and I still believe the ending deserved better.

The male leads from Love Like the Galaxy (Leo Wu) and The Story of Kunning Palace (Zhang Linghe) would really suit this drama as the ML. But since they’re always cast in big, high-budget dramas, I’m not sure if they’d take on roles in short dramas like this. I still remember how Linghe kissed Bai Lu in that unforgettable SOKP scene 🫣
For someone who can finish 70+ episode C-dramas, this was so easy to complete. Thank God I found this! What a great watch! The female lead is amazing! She deserves a role in longer dramas, and I hope to see her succeed soon. Her expressions and acting are impressive, not something I usually expect from short dramas. She also reminds me of Tiffany Tang with her looks and acting. As for the plot, I’m amazed! I just wish it had been a longer drama, because it truly deserved it. After watching three of his dramas, all from this year, I can now say he is my favorite actor. He is so handsome, and that voice is to die for. Whoever he is paired with, there is always chemistry, although I like his pairing with Churan the best. His eyes and the way he looks at his co-actor are so mesmerizing. I hope there will be a Bai Lu and Wan Yi drama soon. Yes, it’s so sad that in reality they ended up divorcing. But life goes on, and they still have their child (maybe there’s a chance for reconciliation) 🥹😭 If you haven’t watched the C-drama “Are You the One”, I recommend it! I think you’ll fall in love with the ML, too. He’s not exactly like Gu Tingye, but his character is funny and incredibly sweet to his wife. In fact, I think he’s even funnier than Gu Tingye—I can’t stop laughing whenever he’s on screen. He’s also intelligent and skilled in martial arts. Plus bonus is this C-drama also has an awesome couple with brains and fighting skills!

I don’t see Mrs. Sheng as a bad person; rather, she’s someone who just doesn’t care much about Minglan (she doesn’t treat her poorly, but not exceptionally either). She simply treats her civilly. Minglan, I think, is the most mature in the family, aside from her Grandma. In the first half of the show, you’ll probably be more wary of Concubine Lin and Molan, but later on, it’ll be the stepmother-in-law, lol. But again, you can’t outsmart this clever FL. Just when you think you’re ahead, she already has an ending planned for you. No worries, while watching this, I trust the FL so much that I know she’ll be okay, no matter what obstacles come her way. I hope you continue watching as this is really worth the time ☺️

You should definitely continue! The FL is smart and cunning. I wasn’t a fan of this Cdrama at first, but after finishing it, I understood the hype. You’ll feel relieved watching, knowing that the FL can handle anything that comes her way. Just push through the first 10 slow episodes—by episode 20 onward, it gets so much better. Plus, the male lead is just as clever. Together, they make an amazing team!
Just finished this today, October 23, 2024. It really lived up to the hype. The first 10 episodes were a bit boring and confusing (a lot of characters and chaos), but you’ll realize that everything is connected to the rest of the story. If you can get past these episodes, it becomes really interesting. Also, if you think 73 episodes are long, I would gladly watch another 73 just to see Sheng Minglan and Gu Tingye again. They are the most cunning and intelligent couple in any C-drama. At first, I didn’t think Gu Tingye was handsome, but now even I would want a guy like him—he’s the silliest, funniest, and smartest! Now I understand why people replay this series; it’s so worth it and truly exceptional. It has single-handedly become my top 1 C-drama.
Can’t believe this man is already 46! Just wow! I am currently watching 'Substitute Princess's Love' and this is my first time seeing him act. I was guessing he was around 30 years old, but omg he is almost as old as my parents. Also, he really looks like Cha Eun Woo! Manly and older version! If Eunwoo looks like a Barbie and webtoon-like, Dylan looks like his hotter and action-movie visual counterpart. Wishing this actor to be paired with Bailu.
