This drama is very well made. Im at ep 6, and loving the rhythm, directing, acting, everything. I hope it gets the attention it deserves in China (not hopeful about popularity among ifans given the cast not being traffic stars) . I would be really upset if this drama performs worse than those badly made dramas.

Idk the script doesn't feel like it was written by a professional to me. I won't even mention weak characterizations, loopholes and the flimsy plot. This screenwriter wrote a TV script like a book. For eg, in ep 2 where the masked man told ML who and who are his enemies. They are important characters in this story but the screenwriter introduced them like a grocery list. The screenwriter did not even bother to come up with better ways to present each character so that the audience can visualize them better, they just bombarded all these information in the dialogue. And this is a recurring problem throughout the episodes I watched. what a lazy writing.

yup. definitely not for me. I went in thinking this would be a serious political drama. Didn't expect such amateur level writing.

I gave up at ep 7. Fans should sue the screenwriter. The script is so ass.

edit: lol his fans think every critism is jealousy or hate. why bother releasing dramas if you can't take critisms. just release fan songs or vlogs or whatever.

This is where I end up after a year of nothingness from zry since jol 2 . I think his acting is tbh quite bad here but the plot is entertaining to watch.

Cinematography is really pretty and plot is nice but male lead and female lead have zero charm. The more I watch, the more they irritate me idek why. I'm dropping this one.

I'm trying to get into it and Zhang Yi character is very interesting. but there are just too many old men in one drama.

This is a male centric drama. Romance is minimal and FL has very few scenes. so you can just skip it.

How is this movie so highly regarded? It is so unimaginative and pretentious. The director obviously lacks originality but trying so hard to be artistic and ended up with a cringe movie.I wouldn't even call it a bad movie cos it's worse than that. Bad movies at least l have a little bit of sincerity in them, which this movie completely lacks off. Which angers me more is the fact that the cast is really good and it's just wasting their acting skills.

If you're in for romance, this is the wrong show for you. Romance is minimal here. FL doesn't even have much screen time and yes they have no chemistry at all . And no the chemistry won't get any better.
