Yes, HL is very very popular yet the popularity overseas/internationally exceeded that from domestic popularity yet lots of them think that it was equal. Like yes, HL are the parent story of TFF, but still TFF be it in novel or manhua, the popularity exceeded that of HL.
It was basically the most popular creation of the respected author Zhu Yi. And to those said that HL's helped TFF to be where they are now like what??? Both of the HL leads has very little scenes in TFF and it you're really into these two you would've known they pretty much have such a different fandoms aka basically TFF do not need latching towards HL like that was pretty much useless since TFF even sangyan's character exceeded both of sangzhi + duanjiaxu.
TFF also is currently Zhuyi's highest and most rated book on jinjiang literacy city with 2 work honors: Top 10 Modern Novel of The Year (i forgot what year but not last year) and with strong VIP recommendations aka you have to be immensely popular and discussed in the scomed to be able to get this honors with a lot more insane achievements such as 11Billion+ points, 600K+ collections etc where HL are nowhere close that of TFF.
Even in Cent, cnetz are more on comparing the cast to the og description in the novel and manhua compared to their discussions with of the stand alone sequal unlike for international part, it was the opposite of each.
The production of TFF lineup are also very very strong from the team, to the veteran senior actors and casts showing that this production are carefully managed and developed unlike that of HL (my poor lusi 🥲) not because of HL's achievements, but it's because of how popular the nov and currently ongoing manhua.
The supertopic alone has 1.05M followers compared to zhuyi's other works (yep including HL) with only 1K-125K followers and it was rated by 15K+ readers on its original publisher-jjwxc and that is A LOT. Even Sangyan character alone has 1M+ too it was triple and more compared to HL's whole. (Im not downgrading HL, i just wanted to let ints fans get a little grasp on how immense and big TFF are.)
If you tryna discredit about the novel/manhua/drama version even the radio drama version is insanely popular HAHAHHAHA i think it has around 120M+ plays (I've checked it around 1 months ago) and it is still on the hot popular list. ðŸ¤
Thus, the reason why TFF be getting 1M even before wrapping is not because of HL (please ijbol ive been laughing on how stupid this is) but because on how many years it has been one of the novel with immense anticipation. + BJT has a very solid fanbase with ruonan and her high general public audience.
