This is so interesting because I actually feel the complete opposite. I like how Charlotte portrayed Ran because I feel like she's supposed to be closed off and we're not supposed to know what she's feeling... At least that's how I interpreted it. And I love the romcom of it honestly it's my favorite part (but that is just my preference - I love cringe in shows). I think it's a great combination of both although the crime aspect of it makes no sense what so ever... Why would someone commit a murder in a parking lot? Why would you break into someone's house instead of getting a warrant? Why are you taking evidence from a someone's house and giving it to your forensics person? How are you a cop?!!! Like... get it together, girl.

A gl (just like a bl) can be horror or detective or whatever other genre. If you want to see a space or sci-fi movie you can expand your world view and give this one a go. I did that with bl-s . They are not my favorite type of shows but I've been pleasantly surprised by some that I really enjoyed so maybe so can you. I think it's unnecessary to comment on a post about a gl movie how you won't watch it just because it's not bl. It comes off as saying you would watch a bl sci-fi movie or a straight sci-fi movie but not a gl (I don't know if that is what you meant though).
I do hope your dream comes true and we get a bl sci-fi movie soon.
