The greatest achievement of this drama is bringing this amazing couple to us Haein and Somin. This is the only reason stopping me from listing my complaints about the writer (my arch-enemy).
It's a lot with LND because the marketing sold something other than what viewers got (for most of the drama).…
But honestly, we can't say that it didn't succeed. It's true that it was somewhat disappointing due to the writing, but the main couple was well-received by many, including both Koreans and foreigners. Additionally, its viewership ratings are reasonable for a private channel, and we still have two episodes left, so we don't know what might happen.
I'm just wondering, do other popular dramas get this much hate, or is it just LND? This is my first time watching a highly anticipated drama as it airs, and this intense reaction is new to me.
Can anyone explain what happened to Somin during Alchemy of souls? I saw a post on X where someone mentioned reading about it on Reddit and feeling really bad for her. What exactly went down? She's so kind, what's wrong with some people
Which kind of things? Some of the things i can think about is the physical abuse from their mom...
Their love story had so much potential but would have been more impactful if we also got her perspective, like when she began to fall for him or when she started seeing him as a romantic interest.
The first four episodes will always hold a legendary status for me, and no one can take that away ✨️
I don't want you to get the wrong idea; I'm still engaged and intrigued, but there are certain things the writer did that I'll never be able to overlook.
The more I see them the more I think they're really just colleagues maybe friendly. Either way I'm glad somin…
Absolutely, they make great partners and have a really comfortable dynamic. I really enjoy their interactions, but I’m not shipping them as a romantic couple at all.
From what I’ve read and observed about Haein, he has mentioned that he often immerses himself deeply into his characters, to the point where he struggles to fully separate them from his own reality. He even compared finishing a project to going through a breakup. His MBTI seems to shift with each role he takes on, which is something I’ve noticed during the promotion of his works. He tends to adopt behaviors similar to the characters he portrays. While I acknowledge the bright and lovely personality of Somin, it’s worth noting that his previous female leads also had those traits. Since this current role is in a romantic comedy, it feels natural for him to appear more playful and laugh more during promotions.
I can't pinpoint the exact reason, but this drama kind of lost me in the last two episodes. I’m not entirely…
You're not alone in feeling that way. The K-drama industry certainly has talented directors and actors, but one major issue seems to lie in scriptwriting. Personally, I haven't found a single drama that I truly enjoyed from beginning to end. I won't deny it,I've dropped quite a few or kept watching out of sheer curiosity about the ending. Somehow, they always manage to let viewers down, whether it's in the beginning, middle, or final episodes. Disappointment seems inevitable.
I have to be honest, the writer seems lost here. It feels like she's wandering aimlessly, much like a person stumbling down a path without clear direction. I respect her attempt to make things relatable and realistic, but when it comes to the core element "romance" she completely missed the mark. The unnecessary twists she introduced really hurt the development of the main couple's relationship. Haein and Somin have amazing chemistry, but the way their characters were written didn’t allow that to shine. I can understand why some viewers were frustrated. In fact, their BTS interactions are far more captivating than anything in the actual drama. It's really disappointing to see such potential wasted. I know it might be wishful thinking, but I sincerely hope they get the chance to work together again, this time with solid writing to support their talent. That’s what I’d love to see.
I think the writers wanted to show a reality in the characters without so much sentimentality. More real and honest,…
I won't deny it, even in reality, it's quite disheartening to witness one person putting in all the effort to keep the love alive. I don't expect her to be as expressive as him, but as someone who enjoys drama, I wish we could glimpse her inner thoughts. That would be such a beautiful thing to see. She can hide her feelings from him, but not from us (at least, that's how I see it)
I'm sorry to say this, but while this drama makes great use of Haein and Somin's excellent acting skills, it falls short in showcasing their beautiful chemistry. Their love story had so much potential but would have been more impactful if we also got her perspective, like when she began to fall for him or when she started seeing him as a romantic interest. I understand her personal struggles, but her love for him feels underdeveloped. Her actions alone aren't enough to convey that connection to me as a viewer; something crucial feels missing.......HER FREAKING POV, DAMN IT.
I don’t mean to sound negative, but I’m a bit let down by the writer. There were so many wonderful opportunities she could have explored, like the big event for the award and his injury. It would’ve been nice to see something like her shaving his face or a similar sweet moment. I’m just feeling a little frustrated!
I'm not feeling good about that proposal. Something's bound to go wrong. Whether she rejects him or the parents do, I’m not sure. Just please, don't let anything bad happen to Seung Hyo.
I started watching this drama out of curiosity, but it really won me over with its warm and simple atmosphere. I'm eagerly looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
Could someone please recommend similar works? They don't necessarily have to be Korean.

I learnt this the hard way. The amount of dramas I've dropped just because of MDL comments and ratings is absurd.…
No matter how convinced you are, they will always find a way to ruin your experience while watching a certain drama. They might not change your opinion, but they will definitely ruin your mood. Reviews above are somewhat logical, but the ones here are mostly toxic. From now on, I will try to avoid them as much as possible, whether during or after finishing the drama.
Honestly, I deeply regret discovering the comments feature on this website. I knew tastes vary, but to be so out of the ordinary and unrealistic is quite frustrating, The way "some" people present their opinions in a childish manner is provoking. This site is supposed to be a reference for some people, not a dumping ground for your dislike. Sometimes, I go to some of the classic dramas to see what the comments are like there, and what can I say? They have no relevance to the original work at all. That's why be your own reference point, and don't expect anyone to question your taste because the credibility of the comments here has officially vanished.
WHEN I CATCH YOU RICKY !!!
