If the drama is built upon a world where men are belittled and perceived as something that can be owned, No. It’s about reclaiming autonomy in a world where women aren't given it. MY was forced to live as a man to even have the right to her spiritual powers and even then, she belonged to the empress and to her state. Now that she is free, choosing herself is the mature ground from which she can then build a relationship.

Any character with this type of background (be it a ML or FL) is justified in wanting this.
