Oh wow that was actually really sad, made me tear up a bit. I'm interested in rewatching the original since I know it's better than this and more fleshed out. It was such so long ago when I gave it a chance and I wasn't in best mood while watching it at the time, but I'm 100% sure I'll enjoy it now.
I can understand that. Unfortunately for him, the movies or dramas that do well in viewership seem to have him…
He's been acting as a comedy character in both running man and dramas for so long that he's kind of "stuck" in that mode. It doesn't bother me personally, but I can see how that can get annoying for others. I have a hard time taking him seriously at points because I feel like I'm suppose to laugh when nothing funny is suppose to happen.
True and I think he knows that too. That's why he is so good at it. He is known as the go to guy for this kind…
Yep, not everyone likes the typecasting but people don't realize how nasty the industry is. I have family whose worked closely with it and it's far worse than you think. I've seen so many short drama actors that never get popular and fall to the way side because there's nothing unique about them despite being good looking and fitting the beauty standards better. There's nothing wrong with their acting but there's thousands of other copy and paste actors, that not even acting skills can compensate. Some also struggle to get main roles in short dramas. DGZ does have alot followers on social media and series like Fatal Allure and Rainforest Passion (despite being painfully mid in my opinion) got millions of viewers from either some random YT channel uploading it or the official once because he made a name for himself for Chinese viewers and International ones. It's not always the best but he does have a group of fans who consistently feed off of those roles because they like him for him, not necessarily just the drama plot or how unique it is. That and this is a job, he's a regular person who needs money like everyone else. It's not a side hobby for fun π . A producer told him on a variety show that she disagrees that he should stop flaunting because you need to get any advantage that you have to stand out for viewers. A similar actor, named Xu Yi Zhen has been criticized for the same thing in the comments yet despite that she's very popular and her particular style is unique and consistently catches attention.
I actually liked this better than the original kdrama version. I mean, the kdrama was almost perfect except for…
This is a late reply, but I'll give this remake a try because I also disliked the ML's acting in the Korean version. Tunnel is one my top 10 dramas of all time, but It was the only visual flaw in the series, in my opinion of course. Some of his crying scenes were excellent so I'll give him props where I can.
I LOVE this so far! But I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it to the end. I'm always hesitant to watch long Chinese dramas because the episode length + number episodes guarantees boring repetition midway to the end. I became a short drama addict because of this.
Really?! Shock, horror. Are there many short dramas where any ML doesn't grab the FL's throat? Ha ha.
Up in the Air, Dual Love, Warm Time with You, Bride's Revenge, Wise Woman, Wow! Your Little Temper, Fatal Allure are all portrayal of regular/greenflag characters and underrated. Rainkissed Fate and Forever Love are too but those are popular so I wouldn't say they're exactly missed out on. Dusk Love is really cute and light too.

πππ€£ that's a good one.
