Pretty good tbh. The drama has minimum romance which I like. Although it was a bit slow at first, it slowly picked up after a couple of episodes. The cases they solved were interesting and complex. Maybe I'll watch this again in the future if I can't find any decent dramas.
Ok so I did not intend this to be so long, but it just happened XD.
Before I started watching this drama, I came across the OST of Xiang Liu on YouTube, and that motivated me to watch the show. I mean, by watching the OST video and lyrics, I already knew there was angst, but I still became interested in their journey, I guess. After starting the drama, I was team Tushang Jing at first, but Xiang Liu just grew on me. He was definitely a red flag initially, but his character development was really good. He did so much for the female lead without expecting anything in return. He never gave her false hope because he knew they would ultimately be doomed. He made sure she had everything she wanted in life.
Never shipped her with Cang Xuan as I am not a fan of brother-sister relationships to romantic relationships. But the actor did a really good job in portraying the complex character in season 2.
As for Tushang Jing, he just wasn't doing it for me. Idk what the fl was seeing in him to like him that much in season 2. I also felt like he sacrificed the least, and everyone else was doing everything for him. But I guess if we were to think realistically, he was the only one who could give the fl the life she wanted. A peaceful and stable one where they could roam without any worries. So yeah. Even though I knew Xiang Liu was not the end game, I still could not help but fall in love with his character. Even though logically Tushang Jing is the best choice, I still wanted XiaoYao and Xiang Liu to end up together, which is kinda stupid of me lol. As I can't change the original story, might as well read some fanfics where they are together later. I recently read one where Xiang Liu is reborn and they meet again after 500 years, where they get a second chance. I liked it quite a bit.
According to your logic, all the actors and actresses in the modern romance cdramas are copying each other's acting because they all have similar script where they have to act in a certain way. Please take your hate elsewhere cuz it's not welcome here 😂. Clearly most of the people are liking the drama so far.
