Loved the movie at the beginning but TSY breakup with that Gao han was pretty stupid not even lying I laughed at breakup scene cos it seemed to me dat if he supposedly loved her he would have stayed with her during start-up of the company
-Let's not even talk about how he somehow ended up with her" supposed friend" and everyone were just chill about it like too chill 😅 I was particularly annoyed at her friend cos it seemed to me she became friends with TSY because of Gao Han
Then we have her the abrupt surgery for no particular reason,like WTF?
-But acting was okay but TSY friend dat got together with her ex acting was a lil bit cringe
-Loved the music by the way"everything you wanted me to be"🎶🎶🎶
Pretty nice than best choice ever I guess couldn't even get pass an episode on that 😭

Double happiness is about a middle aged widower who raises two little girl✓s by himself and a divorced lady (su xiaxin) who fall in love
They start with the whole fake dating troupe along the line they fall in love for real it wasn't all those I like you confessions it was just hinted
What I liked about the movie
✓How they were so mature in their relationship and realised that dating doesn't mean their children should be friends
✓her not so biological mom was amazing 🥺
✓Even the kids were cute 🥺
What I disliked
✓My God....😡the ex husband had no character development at all till the end he was a jerk.....you know those movie where shitty characters get karma satisfactorily no this wasn't it ...and they used the whole filal son to push the story...it didn't help even the ending he just lost his mom and his apartment
His mom who by the was trash too she disregarded the girl child for some stupid reason and showed blatant favouritism to the guy child which she chased away by herself when ex wife was pregnant with him.For about half the episode she was sick.....I was like when was she gonna die .....P.S it was till the ending
She even had the strength to try to run away with FL child
✓How she handled her ex husband situation was terrible
Let's admit that she couldn't stop him from seeing the children at least she should have told the eldest child the truth she was old enough to understand but no she kept on allowing them to meet him till the eldest ended hating him and his family....
✓And my god the ML ex wife parents like the grandpa was soo annoying they literally told him to move on but when he did he would literally relate everything to the fact that he was dating...to him even tell the two children to not like FL because"stepmothers are bad" and almost got lost because of him and he was like ML shouldn't have taken FL to pick the kids .... like if you hadn't poisoned their mind they wouldn't have tried to trick FL ....bruh


My god even supporting characters weren't supporting they were just collecting screen time I was soo angry but I was like the ending was gonna be satisfying but no redemption arc ,no character development,the only terrible character that got character development was ex husband mistress/wife which was because he SA her which was kinda brushed off in movie and she ended up having sense
Mother of ex husband mistress/wife was so stupid too she was just there

Just few characters were okay like FL friend and her was soo cute and funny also FL friend and her husband relationship was soo cute cus her knew her soo well
When they got married so funny she was soo in shock
And ex husband mistress/wife uncle and aunt relationship was so nice cos he married her despite finding out she couldn't give birth that's love
These scenes make the movie worthwhile
But...


Would I rewatch? No
This is not the kinda review that these reviews are just exaggerating maybe you can like it trust me the beginning might be interesting but along the line you might finna lose it

Great movie..... would I watch it again ...not really

The movie is really about teenagers/adults having nostalgic youth moments in the 90s finding different paths
ML doesn't really have a life plan till he meets female lead who motivates him to find a path ...
ML....total green flag 💚
FL also has her flaws but really she's just a fragile lady who puts up a strong front... great story for them
But some details are soo annoying to overlook:
ML friend Li guanguan is excused for sooo many dumb shits he pulls and we are just supposed to overlook it ... i.e when he decides to help villian at the ending because of money
No sense of loyalty at all, greedy,self centered 😡 and they never call him out on this in the movie
Really thought his wife would divorce him but suprise suprise he proposes again and she accepts

I especially loved uncles romance too bad he died 😥.......another stupid plot
Third couple romance was okay😕

But ML and FL perseverance in finding a path in life really got me😭




In all the movie is great but a wacky ending,if you want to watch prepare yourself mentally to be annoyed by ending
