Hi! Thanks for your comment. I have to say I disagree. Imo LR did not do the rom-com genre justice. See the problem…
you know? for me this drama is dedicated to sweet romantic lovers, I don't know if I'm not up to date with the latest Korean dramas, but this kind of romantic genre hasn't aired for a long time, maybe your taste wants innovation towards the romantic genre that is more related to today's life, in this year the audience prefers reality, where they can feel how the story in the drama really affects them how they get something very meaningful, whether they have an inspiring story or have a deep story, I can't refuse your preference
maybe some people say that this drama is just fanservice, I can't deny it, the story is bad, and there are many plot holes, but what I admire is how the actors put in a lot of effort in playing their roles, you shouldn't blame the acting of the actors/actresses, maybe some are lacking but at least you should understand and appreciate them, and how this Korean drama was previously rejected because the school romance story wouldn't sell and had to be postponed for 3 years, maybe this is just my feeling or I don't know, maybe they had to rack their brains so that each story was partly replaced considering, I forgot whether the director or producer of this drama left.
And finally for the Ost, all of them have easy listening tunes, the lyrics are really beautiful and can even enter the top 100 on Billboard, this is what makes this drama stand out
i agree about your opinion about reality, but you know what pals? most rom-coms are formulated like that, and how most of them are blinded by love, and look? most rom-coms sell faster and some actors rise because of that genre, Park hyung shik from strong woman, Nam jo hyuk from weightlifting for example,
moreover we can't expect much about reality if it is adapted from a webtoon, so my conclusion about what you explained is all marketing techniques and imagination from the people behind Lovely Runner, no, i mean rom-com, it's like eating sweet chocolate to boost your energy and mood, that's how rom-com works.
