skynani literally became popular from the bl industry you speak of because fans of that industry SHIPPED them. why are they following the same exact model as that industry? why are you supporting the same model by your logic? why do they keep doing the series together? why are they playing into this fixed ship thing? it’s the same thing except they’re getting away having to portray themselves as gay. why is gmmtv pushing them more than the ones that play the gay role? is it embarrassing?
and this is much bigger than you think. if thailand that is so open to gayness is backing away to make safer bromance shows instead while still benefiting from the model that the queer stories set up for them and we’re simply allowing them to, just think what it would mean to other countries that are fighting to have their queer stories being produced.

to be honest, given how long they've been in this game, GMMTV should've been the leader in prestige gay television. instead their prestige projects have always been for the hets. we've had so many more popular gay pairings that never ever got a budget on this caliber.
Saw a lot of discourse on this on X so decided to post my thoughts here: yes, it’s unfair that GMMTV doesn’t ever put this much production budget into any of their BL shows since they earn mostly from them but that doesn’t mean we should attack the actors for it.
it was a very very cute show and i'm someone who is super tired of this setting in bls. nothing groundbreaking sure but its nice to see an old formula being perfected. dmd is on a spree w back to back hit bl shows. maybe it's time to move to the love upon a time community now lol.

tbh thank god domundi is on a back to back hit spree with khemjira, duang with you and now most likely love upon a time too since its already in iqiyi top 3. ive only liked khemjira thus far from them but its nice that gmmtv has some competition thats clearly spending a lot more money on production than gmmtv is.
gmmtv shows are still nice but they definitely need to up the production and improve screenwriting in some areas. i feel like all the recent gmmtv shows really lose the steam halfway the show and they really need to do something to keep up momentum.
ugh i hated when ohmleng had to split up and were ultimately removed from only friends s2 and now the same thing happened here.
like ugh both these shows had such a spectacular lineup. anyone who comes to fill in the space doesnt end up make me go "woah this show has a star studded lineup"

probably a hot take but i personally find thai bl romcoms pretty much meh now after years of watching them lol. they feel super repetitive to me (only mr thee was somewhat an exception).
enjoying this a lot so far but i think first season was more daring when it came to mixing up the couples. i guess they’re now afraid of upsetting the fans of these fixed ships.
this season just gives “we're gonna do it but actually not” whereas the last season we actually had everyone doing it with anyone lol.

tbh im so up for remaking classic thai bls/queer dramas with better production. some of these shows were pretty enjoyable at the time they were released but also really show their age now whenever i rewatch them. lovesick 2024 really improved on the original for me and i loved it a lot more.
other thai classics id love to see remakes of: hes coming to me, diary of tootsies, love of siam (ik gmmtv is making stage play remake but id love a proper remake), 2moons and together with me,
