90% of his interactions with Pi-o weren’t logical. Remember when he blamed Pi-O for coming along and ruining his mother’s ballet career. Like he chose to be born. The problem with this guy is that he inhabited his idea of what an artist should be and wanted to impose that classification on everyone who wanted to be an artist. If you weren’t an artist, dedicated in the exact way he was dedicated, then you were not worth his time. He basically dismissed his daughter because she had a child, and it wasn’t the “out of wedlock” issue so much as it was the “you ruined your chances of becoming an artist” issue. And Pi-O got dealt that same backhand just for being born. So here he’s justifying his actions but he’s still deluding himself a little bit. However, I think that’s finally making him like the rest of the world. Like his daughter who blamed him for her decision to do hurt Jeongyo (and her son too).
last episode make this masterpiece a 7.5. In the end, everyone suddenly became kind. An old man made a child depressed…
I understand your frustration with the closing off of everything. I have to say though that the grandpa thing was not a final episode bit. He was regretting things for several episodes. And they already established that Pi-O takes everything on himself. He wouldn’t say “gramps… it’s too late bro” on his grandpa’s death bed. That’s not who he is. Even Jeongyo didn’t get angry at him when he did on Pi-O’s behalf when they were younger. I’m not saying what the grandpa did was okay all of a sudden. It’s not, but Pi-O still loved and/or respected him. The grandpa also helped bring him out of it when he threw the metronome out the window and told Pi-o to change things and do his own thing. I mean… there were problems lots of problems and neglect and verbal abuse, but those don’t need to be rehashed when he was obviously trying (maybe too late but still) and when Pi-O was sort of hopeful they’d have more time. Essentially, I read the grandpa as a person who always thought he would have more time and so he could be as brash and inflexible as possible because he could and then his mortality started staring him in the face and he had to come to terms with the fractures he’d placed on his family. I agree about the three year gap though. I didn’t even like the ten year gap. That was too long. It did increase the angst, I suppose. The one issue I had was the mom’s storyline. I think maybe that’s tied with your frustrations about the teacher.
i'm watching navillera rn and you're right. there isn't a single trace of pio in chae-rok (or i should say no…
I started to watch that but I paused halfway though the first ep because I actually kind of couldn’t watch it so soon after knowing they wouldn’t be in the show together. But I’m hoping to go back into it. I think he’s a phenomenal actor. both of them are. and Pi-o’s mom.
Considering how popular this drama and Junkang have become not casting ‘em together in another project should…
Too bad this doesn’t have a Thai-mechanism thing... I heard Thai BL pairs are pairs first and individual actors second, basically. (I’m obviously hyperbolizing a bit).
Someone said this in twt Most people in the fandom have been calling Jeongyo out for visiting Pio’s house when…
People were complaining about that? I loved those parts. Also, it can be explained without this cool bit of KDrama trope history if you think about how sometimes when they texted the texts went unanswered. This was a way to make sure their communication would be answered. Especially in the beginning when Pi-o was the more resistant party in some ways.
For me, I liked it from the first episode. She’s so funny and her life is so hard, but she maintains and is…
I hope you enjoy it, but it’s also okay not to. I think there are different shows for different people and forcing yourself to watch something you’re not enjoying just because it seems to be popular is a waste of your precious time. Watch what you like!! If you have high standards, that’s awesome.
Did it really?!!! Will it be updated on here too, then? I just double checked my Netflix and there is no Queer/BL…
first! dude. my first one is Queer Eye. Then it’s some other random ones and all the other Queer Eye country-specific editions. 4H2S doesn’t even appear on the “first” screen. I have to scroll. and scroll. and scroll.
i love jang gyu-ri but her character was rly not needed. but she did good don’t get me wrong.
I don’t know. She was a contrast. We could all see that Pi-o was never into her as much. And even when there was a possibility for them to reconcile (during that product placement lunch), they don’t.
Also, there was that scene in the airport where she was leaning into him and was holding his hand and then she was like “I’m into this relationship more than you.” And he doesn’t defend himself.
Plus… I liked her. Maybe because they didn’t force the romance on us for long like they sometimes do so that they can say “yo! just so you know… this guy is incredibly HETEROSEXUAL! Okay… do you believe us now?”

Asking for Jae In because you know she ships them, deep down inside at least.
