I subscribed to Disney+ just for this drama. Its expansive and expensive cast with insane visuals are absolutely stunning but story feels kinda mid so far and acting is okay - I mean it's IU and BWS so its super eye candy and that alone makes it worth watching. Still its only ep 1 so we will see.
Also, Disney+ really needs to fix their subtitles — they’re terrible. And seriously, why are these shows still stuck in HD instead of 4K?
So far not bad. I think its a v similar plot to one of the drama like Oh my Ghost Client. Sth is definitely lacking in this show that I'm not rating this v high like i find the possessing ridiculous?? uninteresting?? not sure how to put it and the recent case on the scientist just wasn't v interesting.. (the last 2 cases were okay)
Why are Kdrama so mid nowadays? I keep on looking for a CDrama to watch...
EP8 half way: im sooo bored omg the dialogue being said is so slow and making me sleepy... Endured EP 3 - 8 : Plot is still uninteresting - don't really care abt the characters - Dragon Deity trying to get back his powers (perhaps i missed it but why give away in the first place), Guy with the beads trying to get revenge (only like 1-2 scenes of villages getting killed, his acting probably isn't that good -> I cant relate his drive for revenge), 2 pretty fox demons - one fell in love with a wooden puppet, one seem to be working with the Dragon Deity (Im confused whats their overall goal is).
Magic/fighting is flashy, costumes and visuals are great but its just that. Im dropping...
Fantasy usually starts with world building. The first episodes were opening up to the main plot but it's also…
yeah perhaps you are right abt the world building and maybe xuanhuan genre isn't for me but I'm just waiting for the hook to get me to click on the next ep.
Finished EP 3 My Thoughts: Visually pleasing drama but that's it. Plot is boring, execution is ridiculous, alot of the scenes are pointless, CGI is cool until the part where nine tail fox is half demon half human (wearing a costume?) - spoil immersion. AND i laughed at the ending of EP 3 where both nine tail foxes spin themself in - HAHAs what a funny entrance!
Both actresses are really pretty but will the plot get better?? or it's time to drop? (I feel alot of CDrama has this thing where it gets better at ard 6-8 eps but WHY?)
i am stuck on ep 21, i have loved the drama up to nearly this point.. but for some reasons her being this perfect…
To me if I were to be v critical of the show then yes she has a cheat code but if you think about it, I don't think anyone can be like her. Even if you have lived in the future, are you brave enough, has the determination and the wits like her to do what she has done? I think everyone has their own taste in drama, to me I just love slice of life like that because it's so heart warming seeing them being so close with each other like family, friends and having the love of your life supporting you like that. I don't think she is perfect, she do need help from her friends and the ML in terms of legal advices, she do feel vulnerable at times.
but if you feel like all these aren't interesting to you feel free to drop - why do you need a stranger to tell you what to enjoy. Drama is meant to be fun and enjoyable for u ~
Such an underrated show! Zhou Ye is a great actress! This ML i'm seeing for the first time is not bad too! I just love the story, the positivity, the lessons about life. Although it's your typical time travel cliche plot, but this was done right and it wasn't even the focus of the show.
Yes the ending wasn't explain but I'm fine with no explanation about the time travel because its the process of her making use of her '2nd life' to live bravely and freely + the healthy mature romance of the leads that make up for it.
I actually binged to the end omg! ( Can't compare with POJ in terms of genre but one of the best drama of the year)
Heart warming show but i had to fast forward the last 2 eps. Lost the spark towards the end. Cool concept - bad execution - poor script. Love Jeong Eui but the drama she chose always isn't as good...
Just cant get into a Japanese drama/movie, perhaps its culture differences or the way it is translated, dialogue and reactions are a little cringey for me. Cinematography is lacking - example showing a person's face for more than 30 seconds. Story is kinda interesting but still there are existing plot holes. An okay watch.
If you lived five hundred years and everyone had else had something that you never had, you would at the very…
I get what you mean about not needing to spell out every single motivation on screen if it’s logically understandable. What I’m trying to say is a bit different: as a viewer, I don’t just need to understand why a character feels something, I need to feel it with them for it to stay engaging. If the drama skips showing enough background, context or emotion, the motivation might still be “obvious” on paper, but there’s less for the audience to connect to and care about. I’m not asking for hand‑holding or “dumbing it down,” just that the show spends enough time on those execution so the character’s curiosity actually lands emotionally with the viewer.
For now EP1-4: I’m the spirit lord, I can do anything, my mortal body is weak, I can’t feel hot/cold or taste food, I want that guy’s sword so I can get my senses back, he is not who he said he is, im curious abt him.

Yeah i get that but it isn't relatable as a viewer so the drama needs to show more of it and if curiosity is the plot/hook then it is going to get boring...
As a Netflix watcher, finally without reading the comments and watching leaks, like what XZ said ' its finally over'.
BUT I can't get enough of their love and FCY's fighting scenes. I guess near the end, it needs some kind of closure. I'm still confused over what the truth is - all I know is its the late emperor's fault causing so many deaths and tragedy.
I rate this show a 9.5 cus 0.5 is due to alot of political plot, steamy bath scene too short and lack of FCY fighting scene near the end HOWEVER its still Drama of the Year worthy!!!
PS: QM redeem himself at the end lols and QQ is really a time traveler omo PS2: Alternative timeline isn't needed ... just show us XZ and FCY having babies~~ 😘
I think it's because she has always existed as a spirit (never got to experience life as a mortal) and probably…
But I don't read the novel so as a viewer I don't feel the longing from her to get back her 5 senses (she didn't lose it from the start anyway) so that's why I'm questioning her motivation.

just doesn't hit hard as a viewer.
