I think in this drama it's shown how the noble people are very family oriented but the humble ones would sacrifice their closest ones for power. With how Minister wang refused to surrender and his spoke about how the nobles have become one big family. Even Empress is ready to sacrifice for her children and obviously for her family. While the people from a more humble background betray each other for the little power they can cling to like Pei family, Consert Rou are shown as such examples. Even the king believes that he can manipulate the humble but not the nobles. Obviously this doesn't mean everyone noble is good or every person from a humble background is wrong but its interesting.
Consert Rou using her daughter and her daughter being foolish is so on brand with them. I loved how we saw a contrast with the mothers. Empress trying to save her daughter while the consert using her daughter to be saved.
I revived my mdl acc to write this but am I missing something or what. According to the drama after LR found about PWX and QZZ, they separated. She was mad and her pride was hurt making her not give PWX time to process his feelings but PWX also did not really fight for LR and his love. He accepted the separation quite quickly. I get that he was in love with her but so was she. She had to see her husband seperate from her for another girl so obviously girl will have some doubts trusting him fully. I am happy that he is choosing her this life but LR cannot be blamed for her reservations regarding PWX. A man who left you alone for 17 years suddenly says he loves you would make anyone doubtful before trusting them again. Especially if you are from a family like LR's.
Anyway I am happy they have finally communicated and are on the same page. Goinf forward I'm excited to see them put SRQ in his place.
