There was a few episodes two third way in that i did not pay mucn attention and those were extras compared to the novel. Theycould have made it 36 episodes but they shipped the the broth and the Xie girl. Overall i enjoyed it made me laugh. Yes i would have loved even more sugar with main CP as alwaays 😁

I agree with you 💯. I alughed so much with the scenes and punch lines. Cried one scene. This light comedy really made my day, nohting seriius just happy moments with some CP sugar of endearingand tender moments.

They locked lips in one scene for over 60 seconds and that more than alot of dramas kiss where it was a quick brush. Overall I was happy with the CP sugar along the way, many endearing and tender moments, that to me is more memorable than a wet tonguegy which first in Chinese society and act in many drama, might give the wrong optic. Second set in historic setting, conservative. Casts and all concern must be comfortable with any intimate scenes.

In the novel, they met in the palace when she was about five and Rongxia was 10 years old. Their family moved out of the palace when her grandfather died. So no they would not have seen or spent time in chidhood. Her family knew of him but not know him well. Anyway, a drama lets not dig too deep 😊

There are so many dramas and most with many episodes so i am abit selective. I dont want to watch something that i feel at the end oh that was a waste of time. Northingtoo sad that would leave a hole for a few days 😂. Good bye my princess was good but both endings was so tragic i was depressed for a few days 😭😂

It was acomedy! they love each other after their marriage 😂. There were enough CP sugar sprinkled along the way , sweet, endearing scenes ( more than most dramas) Yes FL character she had three admirer same as in the novel Shi, Yan, Shen Yu. Prince Ake was an additional. Yes she was promoted alot too! Mr Xie, did say, she got promoted again 🤣🤣

I absolutely love this Cdrama. This was a comedy with some CP sugar sprinkle along the way. I was grinning from ear to ear through the drama, the characters script and punchlines including those of the maids and maleservants were hilarious. But there was one scene, i could not helped but cried. The grandma script was funny too at times.
This truely was a comedy and the family dynamic was so lovely to see, very supportive. Many eating scenes which is rare in costume drama.
The whole casts were great, they acted very well, even the villain was funny. Love th ewhole cast. The ML played by Hou Minghao (his first costume drama) was amazing, he was so handome and good to look at. His acting was great, very talented, his many jealousy and vinegar scenes were funny and endearing to watch.
The FL, not your typical damsel in distress type (there are many of those in drama already.) She is fierce, blunt, sharp tongue, good in martial art, prefer to be on top 😂
Overall, this drama was refreshing, easy to watch, entertaining, many funny scenes. Even their romantic scenes were sprinkled with cheesy love words...it made me laughed, cried, swoon, grinned dont have to deal with hair pulling misunderstandings.

I have not watched TBOY but read that it is good. I guess it is a fine line between not giving the rush impression, but at the same time not to be dragging, and long drawn plot that makes viewers loose interest. Personally, 40 eps is max for me. Though i am over half way of an 87 eps drama. I am surprised myself, that i have made it this far 😂. I guess with 60 years of being on the throne and one of the great emperors, that there are alot to squeeze in. I am talking about Ruyi 's Royal Love in the Palace.

I have heard this once too often, and hence have not watched. I am a big fan of Xiaohou and costume drama, but just have not got myself to watch this one. Seen some BTS clips, though i dont know the FL , found her giddyly, not serious, cracked up too many times during takes, too many retakes seem exhausting. So I think i will pass and not invest my time in 40 eps, when 20 eps in the middle have meh reviews. 🤔. Will wait for Fangs of fortune and Xiao Yao/ Hong Ye. Both look really good.

True. I guess they got to carry on with the young master adventure. Ep 20 and Ep21 Mr Li the young script was so refreshing and delightful. Why am i nervous and my hands are sweating? 😅😂
