I don't understand the thing about the art and artist and being the same. at the end of the day acting is an occupation no one would do it for free. so unless you decide to hold everyone in the world to the same standard I will not accept any argument about holding actors to a different one.

There is something many fans seem to forget....
An actor's job is to create content for us to watch in a way that distract us from our hard day and make us feel emotions we are craving

we have nothing to do with their personal life. At the end of the day, same as you don't get involved in shopkeeper's divorce or your doctor's love life, or if the person doing your plumbing has ever done weed, their personal life doesn't matter to us.

if an actor does something that doesn't match your moral standard, what has it go to do with you. I understand if they commited a crime. But the same for the rest of us we will be tried by the unjust court system not the public.

Same as many k-celeb typical crimes get punished lightly many drunk drivers, drug users get punished lightly too. once they serve their time they return to society like any convict, allowed to work and interact with the public.

Please stop holding actors to a higher standard then the rest of the public. If you do then take a good look in the mirror and start for example making fun of every divorced person on the planet.

i hate myself for thinking this but i really hate ji yun's dad, you're the entire the world to a kid, why would you decide to be a hero, you have no training in fire rescue and no equipment. Like well done you saved another person but your daughter spent her childhood and her best years alone.

But the highlight for me is the scenography, OST and cinematic aspects of this drama that i am totally in love with, also who told them to make the end credits video scenes? this guy/girl deserve a raise!!!!!

totally which is such a shame! there is so many great talents in this drama i was really excited for it, but fair PSH can't do it, pick someone that's also suitable, many great actors who don't have a role scheduled would have been amazing for this role.

I don't like criticising actors, but his image/concept doesn't fit this role, i can't see his as a ruthless ruler. The king this drama is based on was considered the worst tyrant in korean history. They need someone with a rough character like a anti-hero type of character.

I completely agree! how many dramas have we watched that had a brilliant plot/cast that was obliterated because of chemistry and hence wrong casting.

I hate to throw accusations but that's what annoys me that sometimes your connections gets you further than suitability. (i'll still watch because the plot seems really great) but it won't reach its potential

I agree Kim Soo Hyun went from playing student is the hit dream high to 400 years old alien, however his co-lead had only a couple of dramas most of us haven't seen so the chemistry between them was absolutely fantastic because she wasn't typecast into a mature drama actress.

On the other hand Yoon Ah has been known since the early 2000s with GG and so many other drama playing mature actress, even married roles. This will make the chemistry between them rough to watch, since all we can think about is the age gap.

I'm not saying he's a bad actor, i personally only remember him from crash course in romance since i dropped hierarchy. While I know Yoon Ah from many dramas so he's not the main main lead, if that makes sense.

To make it work, they will need either a new actor with not many hits, or someone typecasted into such roles for the chemistry to work because as much as i like Yoon Ah she doesn't have a good range as an actress.

I haven't read the web novel so if the character is supposedly 20s then my point is pointless and it'll be a noona drama but i personally haven't seen anything about character age just he's a tyrant king so we will see once we get more details.

Jung Hae In is the definition of versatility, he plays so many ranges brilliantly. however, most student roles he has are either ages ago or flashbacks. age and role variability is not the same thing.

if you look at popular actors performances you'll see they avoid student roles once they enter 20s roles and then they move to adult roles. (not generalisation but what i've noticed my favourite actors do)

this is just my preference i only expressed it on here, you're entitled to yours but it seems that my opinion is not part of a minority. Just wanted to show the reasoning behind this opinion to avoid being called an ageist.

of course! but as viewers i don't know about you but we associate actors with certain roles/ages like how it will feel weird seeing Hyun Bin playing a dirt poor character, or Yeo Jin Goo who did it perfectly he's only a couple of years older than Lee Chae Min but he started playing students roles, then 20s now he's playing 30s roles

i'm not saying he'll do a terrible job myself and many will love him but, it'll feel somewhat weird for some viewers. this won't end his career but we just want the best actor for the role so it'll be great for us to watch. someone like
Lee Jae-wook, song kang or even Shin Seung Ho who did an amazing job in alchemy of souls is currently not scheduled for any new projects

I have no issue with age gaps between actors, but for me yoon ah is grown woman all dramas i've seen her in has been portrayed in her 30s late 20s, while lee chae min i remember him as the student in crash course romance and hierarchy ,

it feels weird, if i was his manager i'd have advised him to play few more roles set in his early 20s before this jump to adult, unless it'll be a noona drama which i have no issue with if they don't keep going on about it like dare to love me
