Review Soul Mate Spoiler
Why did the show's writers burden Yohan with such an inordinate amount of misfortune and hardship? The writers…
I totally agree with you. Johan didn't have it easy at all and I think one thing are two could have been changed but I also believe that one of the message here was that even when life feels like sht, we always find happy moments even if they don't last. Even when he was struggling, Johan learned how to enjoy the moments of happiness he had with Ryu, Sumiko, Kanau, Ryu's parents, etc. Even if in the end he can't escape his tragic faith (that was probably alrd decided from the moment he started boxing), at least he was able to make the last years of his life a little bit better than if he never met Ryu. I also think that every bad things that happened to him are really tragic and sad but in some way they make sense. I donβt know how to explain but I felt like everything made sense it this series. The events happening were all coincidences but it still felt right. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have loved it as much if all of that didn't happen. Life wasn't fair to Johan, he didn't deserve to die after everything he sacrificed and went trough. But we don't make the rules. That's life. And i think that at then end of the day, that's what this series is all about. Life. Happy moments, sad moments, really sad moments... Life.
