First of all, the show was a lot more romance than I thought it was going to be based off of the synopsis. I really liked some of the choices they made when presenting certain things like flashbacks and I did originally like the way they presented information when they would show a scene, skip ahead a bit, and then go back to the scene to show what they left out; however, they did it so much that it did kind of get a little old for me eventually. I was originally going to give it an 8.5 but the last episode kind of threw me off a little bit with her going to a war zone and getting kidnapped, especially since it was only for a brief moment. I also only had one question: when did the sister actually start talking and why was the mom confused? Whenever the mom and sister met up, the mom had asked her when she started talking, which she never answered, but three years ago in the show, she was talking to Yu-yeon on the phone; so did she just not speak to the mom at all even three years ago or however long ago it was when she got the surgery? Loved it!
The ending was very confusing and convoluted but I'm sure I can figure it out by watching videos of people explaining it. The acting is actually the main reason I am giving it this rating, along with the story. Jeon Jong-seo did very well at being a creepy/psychotic character and it just shows how versatile she is as she has played about every type of character there is, not to mention that this was only like her second acting role. Park Shin-hye did amazing as well but that isn't really a surprise as Korean movies and shows always have amazing lead actors. I really liked the story and how you don't necessarily suspect anything is wrong with Young-sook at first and just think that she may be getting abused by her stepmother. Unfortunately though, I do feel like the trailer kind of spoiled the fact that she was a killer and I feel like it would've had more of an impact if they didn't reveal that in the trailer because in the movie, it is actually revealed after maybe a little more than 1/3 of the way through so I feel like they did have lots of material before the reveal that they could have put in the trailer to not spoil so much. Was this review helpful to you?

There were some things that were brought up briefly in the show that seemed as though they were going to be important but then they were never brought up again. Such as the building manager losing hair. There were also some characters that I would have liked to see how they turned out after everything and would've like to have gotten some sort of resolution for such as the doctor who was just a horrible person. In all, the ending felt just a little rushed to me. I also felt like I wasn't really that connected to the characters. It was a very slow burn but I think it was a cool concept for a zombie-type show as it isn't something that we have really seen before in many ways. (Also, the reason the rewatch value is so low is because I do not really rewatch things so that can be ruled out.) Was this review helpful to you?

Love the show, however; the plot armor is just ridiculous in my opinion. There was a lot of plot armor last season as well but I thought it made a lot of sense as to why given that the games are supposed to represent their will to live. But Arisu was literally supposed to die and was just able to get away with losing a game when if it was anyone else, they would have died. Also, there was one thing in particular that wasn't answered and that was: how were they getting people to go back to the games? (Also, the reason my rewatch value is so low is because I don't really rewatch things so don't mind that.) Was this review helpful to you?
One of my favorites
This show is not at all what I expected it to be and I feel like the trailer does a great job at misdirecting you. I adore all of the characters and their relationships; I think they are some of the best written characters I have ever seen, and have the most wholesome relationships with their loved ones. I gave it a 9.5 just because there was one episode where I was just a little bored but other than that, I loved it and I am very excited for the second season. Was this review helpful to you?
