again we are making a point here what's the 'standard' of hit trending. the show you have mentioned didn't do well, and are considered a flop for a reason.
So the OOP claiming the numbers are good enough to be considered something brag about was the point, which is not true. MSP, PONDPHU show blew up and hit high number of tweeets that means they captured the new audience attention with the help of their show and that's why their fandom became huge.
However for kidnap we are not seeing that attraction so far, and i fear, considering the show quality it'd be hard for the coming episodes too. So considering that number tweets are good number for trending is a bit exaggeration and comparing with three year old show, when in general not a good number people paying attention.

bad buddy was 3 years ago a lot has changed since then. these numbers aren't that high considering today's standards.
the trainee didn't do well but every episode they trended with 500k+ tweets even last episode they nearly hit 900+k.
The peaceful property is a het show but still easily get around 500k tweets.
Hitting a million is a norm for big fandoms like that we have seen for WE ARE, and My Love Mix Up.
so the Million is the somewhat standard now. lol that too considering the fandom dynamic like MLMU isn't a hit but they got Million tweets every week.
if kidnap manages to get around a half million tweets then we can say the show has reached a broader audience or a hit somehow.

believe me i have tried to watch the show as a neutral i fuckin love ohm so much . i want the show to blow up, want every cp events for them, i want them to have fan meets left and right and i support this show with all my heart. But all my wishes would possibly come true if this show manages to get the spotlight of broader audience other than the existing fandom. The show lacks that spark.
Rom coms can be done perfectly, if the writers/ directors know how to do it. They just give the whole fuckin episode in the preview? always leave me thinking there might me more but nah so far it has been proven wrong. even the editing is mid. the show screams low budget pleaseeee from every fuckin angle. there are many loop holes in the script. if you have to give me the reasons, even to a lot of people, then believe me i am not wrong in assuming it's not up to the expectations. my problem is that they have every cliche bait scene in the show so far; guitar scene(outta nowhere playing with plushies Stockholm syndrome without any in depth character development of Q that could have been helpful to wane the cringe fest of why he feels alone and attach/ safe around his kindnapee. and now the sponge bath. the story goes like ohh they are doing all these because every cliche character does, but they fail to let audience develop some sense of the characters, their feelings, their struggles, shortcomings; that's what you expect from screen writers to do their job. This is the exact reason general audience has failed to feel the spark.
