Episode 39 really took the scenic route to absolutely nowhere. After a two days of waiting, I expected plot, not a fast walk through the void. Todays’ episode had more time skips and flashback... So much happened, yet somehow I spent the entire episode confused.

Seeing the preview for Ep 35-38. I will definitely control myself and pause watching this drama for now until it’s finally complete.

The thing that I adore the most in this drama are the facial expressions of Lan Xiang’s father. He is just stinking cute!

Yes! I was hoping for Lan Xiang to succeed in her life as a single woman for quite some time, but this marriage with JinQi will just have to do, he knows what he is getting into and he can offer Lan Xiang protection and match her deviousness. It'll be exciting, but life with Scholar Han would just be boring.

LONG Commentary for the previous episodes: I am quite happy that our dear FL, Lan Xiang is very capable and can get herself out of any situations without the help of the ML, but, at the same time I feel sad for the ML. As what we have seen so far, his efforts are not noticed by the FL… maybe if she knew the wedding edict wouldn’t have blindsided her so much.

Personally, I am quite happy that Lan Xiang did not marry Scholar Han. Yes, he was kind to her, but honestly, he’s a red flag as well. Hurrying to set the marriage with Lan Xiang the moment he knew that Jin Qi has sincere feelings for Lan Xiang. Dude, your insecurities are so loud. I would have respected him if he waited to top the exams before proposing or maybe courting Lan Xiang, but noooo he just had to use the closeness of both families to tie Lan Xiang down to him, with nothing much to offer (at that point), and it’s not like Lan Xiang even have feelings for him. Also, NOT ONCE did he ask Lan Xiang directly about marriage. Yes, the parents get to decide during that time but wtf.

Jin Qi deserved that slap. He totally did, the way he manipulated and schemed just to marry Lan Xiang is a red flag, but, let’s be honest, if Scholar Han wasn’t rushing things, Jin Qi would have at least made more efforts to make his feelings known to Lan Xiang, he was already starting to do those things but Scholar Han was blocking his moves. Also, our girl, Lan Xiang just can’t take a hint regarding Jin Qi’s feelings.

I think, the edict would still happen, but without Scholar Han in the scenario, before Jin Qi asked the King for the marriage edict, Lan Xiang would totally be in the know. And there would have been no slap.

But then, maybe the drama would end early… so, maybe it worked out well.

Anybody have an idea when all the episodes will be released on WeTV? I will give corporate all my money just to get a peace of mind. If only the novel is close to the drama I would have read it already and moved on. I wanna know what’s nextttt huhuhu

Honestly, at this point, both of them don't deserve Lan Xiang.

He offered marriage to Lan Xiang even though he knows she doesn't love him. Was that really the freedom Lan Xiang wanted? She was gonna go along with it for the sake of her parents. Yeah, they are good friends but... in a way it's also sort of a manipulative move from scholar Han. He looks kind, acts kind, but he knows that Jin Qi has a thing for Lan Xiang and that's why he wanted to marry Lan Xiang sooner. In a way, because of him, Jin Qi made his move as well.

And yes, Jin Qi is also a manipulative jerk. A manipulative jerk with the highest connection.

Just a thought. I don't really like scholar Han.
