Surprisingly Refreshing
I usually don’t bother with romcom shows because I never find the comedy aspect of them funny, but this one has pulled a few actual laughs from me. Even if most of the comedy is physical (my least favourite).
If you’re interested in watching two girls slowly become friends after their souls are switched (the sort of lengths I’d go to if I wanted my arch nemesis slash crush to spend time with me), then this is the show for you. As I said, there’s a lot of comedy sprinkled in that keeps it all fluffy and lighthearted for the most part, but in a way that I don’t find too corny or overly done.
I didn’t think I’d be that interested in the romance aspect of this show, or rather I didn’t think I’d be able to get my head around the whole body switch thing, but it was kinda easy. The two lead actresses have nice chemistry and it feels like they play off of each other’s energy well.
The secondary couple’s story isn’t bad either, so it’s really a two for one deal.
My criticism…I can’t really find any to give right now. The pace is slow (for a GL series) but it helps build the story up along with the tension. Episode 6 had me giggling and kicking my feet. Happy I gave it a try, you should too if any of the above mentioned catches your eye.
