not horrible not great
The story itself is very dramatic and teeters on the edge of unrealistic, but some dramas are intentionally over the top to draw you in and keep you hooked, so I’ll let it slide by. The acting from the two FLs isn’t great, but it’s not horrible either. There are a lot of blank stares where dialogue could’ve been inserted instead because the looks don’t convey much to me. In ep5 there’s a bout of push and pull that doesn’t last very long, and I’m not even sure when the issue was resolved or how it was resolved so quickly in order for them to accept that they like each other.
I think there’s a way to do “dark romance” but I’m not sure these two pull it off well. Instead of Queen’s actions coming off as domineering or attractive, she just seems stiff. And the other girl is so meagre that it’s annoying instead of endearing, especially when she seems fully capable of putting her foot down at the most irrelevant times. But that is all just my opinion; I have seen a loooot of people loving both their portrayals of the characters, so know that my thoughts aren’t exactly popular.
Overall, I’d say to give this series a try whether you’re interested in the “dark romance” genre or not, because you never know if you might end up liking it!
