Absolute perfection. A dark, shatterning masterpiece that redefines GL
I cannot even fully explain how I feel after finishing this series. I didn’t just watch it; I devoured it. This show completely destroyed me in the best way possible. I have watched many series before—including top-tier BLs like Not Me or KinnPorsche—and while I enjoyed them, I have never cried so purely from the bottom of my heart until now. Broken (Of) Love is a masterpiece on an entirely different level.
Until episode 5, the show was already incredibly high quality, but episodes 6 and especially 7 completely shattered me. Episode 7 is easily my absolute favorite. The emotional depth and the acting are mind-blowing.
Lalin is a walking angel. The scene where she learns the truth about why Arisa did what she did, and she responds with so much unconditional devotion, made me sob. When she says she doesn't feel a single ounce of hatred because she actually understands Arisa's trauma... that is the ultimate form of pure love. She chooses understanding over anger in a world full of wreckage.
What makes this show a 10/10 (honestly, a 1000/10) is that it doesn't just focus on a shallow romance. It is a heavy, dark, psychological thriller that respects the depth and pain of women. The plot twists genuinely shock you. The commentary on the abuse of women is played so powerfully. The moment Wei Ling stays to help destroy the body of an abusive husband just to protect the woman she loves hits incredibly hard. It shows the terrifying reality of women having to become cold-blooded to survive monsters together. Even the generational love story between the mothers is so rare, beautiful, and monumental.
My deep apologies to Lalin's mother for ever doubting her—she is the ultimate green flag!
If you want a shallow, easy romance, this isn't it. But if you want raw emotional intimacy, breathtaking acting, a gripping dark plot, and a story where women fiercely protect each other against all odds, watch this immediately. This is PEAK television.
