I agree with the top review that the only way to enjoying this is to stop comparing with other versions.
And you need to know the reason that the second season of s2 is really different with other versions was because it was made when the manga hasn't ended yet so the director made the story themselves
And when you stop comparing, you will realize that this show is not that bad, of course it's still dragging to long esp 2-13 when they were crazy looking for asi when he goes missing & nothing much really happened except asi & yesha getting closer ( of course it's painful story but if you see from real world's perspective, it's really make sense for asi to like yesha coz he see yesha as a chicken mom, when he got amnesia and know nothing it's yesha the girl he knows first)
There is a serial named "what if" from american marvel universe, it tells how stories can go differently but somehow ended up the same. So I'm taking this 2nd season as a "what if" from another versions
- what if the ML get amnesia in another country not in the same country like another versions? - what if when the ML get full amnesia instead of partly amnesia like another versions? - what if the ML see another girl instead of FL when he first woke up from accident, and being apart longer from FL in another country, fell in love with another girl, & his mom did brainwash and took advantage of this condition way more then another version? Will the ML & FL find a way back to each other ?
Coz in another version the ML only got partial amnesia and not in different country thus they don't get to rely to another woman, and their mom didn't really do to much to separate them.
This is the show that proof even the in the really worst condition , the ML always has FL in his heart, (you will see this from ep 20-30) , even when he couldn't remember her yet but he enjoy to have lunch together with her, even he got little worried when shancai was told to drink 3 glasses of wine. Of course he got distanced of shancai again because he was brainwashed by his mom (remember he still got amnesia)
And then once he remembers everything, he got confused doesn't want to hurt anyone, this is really make sense coz he already engaged to SFL and he himself keeps swearing not to be back to FL when he got amnesia, as a mature man of course he confused what to do.
But when he still confused , the viewer will got to see how ah si always has shancai in his heart, after he remember he always think about shancai eventho he's with yesha at that time.
What's getting more complicated is once he realized and told shage that shancai is the one he really loves, he knows yesha has a deadly disease , as a person of course he has to company yesha , not because of love but more like to a duty and friendship after all what yesha's done to him.
The scene when ML and FL finally admit to each other that their heart's belong to each other and when the Ml finally gave the ring eventho as a goodbye is really beautifully painful I keep crying no matter how many times I rewatch it.
& finally they always find a way to each other coz the heart never lies. Even yesha realizes herself on her letter to shage that ML always has SFL in his heart.
There's also a thing that I want to note down, when ML & SFL together, he never kisses her first like what he did to shancai, turns out it's SFL who kissed him first when he remembers and you can see he didn't enjoy it kinda pushed her a bit away.
And also the next next day when SFL asked for a kiss, he kissed her only on cheek coz he already remember shancai.
What really shame is the only one who tried to get ML remembers FL is qinghe, not F3 . Yu shao& his sister also didn't show up, but again this can be part of "what if" .

Yes, but he only came back as arrogant and spoiled brat kid like how he was before. There is a girl who want to took advantage of his amnesiac thing but he never fell in love to another girl. Moreover he found himself fell in love again with the FL. Go watch the japanese version then you'll see
What i wanna say is don't get too focused with the kiss. This drama is one of the best cdrama of this year, considering many has dissapointed me this year including love me kill me which has good kiss scene but terrible plot and ending . The emotional depth of this drama is really good even tho no kiss lips
Yes I know & agree, kiss scene would be highly favourable but they probably want to show that this is all about hidden love , ziqi is a shy boy who developed feeling for miao2 since kid but never had a chance to say it other that to say it in novel, and all that we watched is only in novel world which is doesn't exist in real world, they pulled in together because ziqi had wish that miao2 know his hidden feelings, and his third wish is to tell her personally (we can assume not in the novel but in the real world) , so their first kiss is could be saved till they meet directl in the real world when the real ziqi/ fuzhou already has courage to approach miao2 in real world. I do know your feelings but I'm trying to understand from the director's pov so that I can enjoy their ending. Their journey has just begun again in the real world.

No kiss, kinda dissappointed at first but after a while I like it! Towards the ending you will understand why no kiss scene is better for this story. They had a forhead kiss tho. Which kinda cute and made me melted more than when I saw kiss scene in another drama or the second lead couple. and that forehead kiss made me bawl my eyes at the ending

And I think the marriage wasn't succesfull cos it got interrupted , right ? Also i'm assuming when she heard DFCQ cried out of loud on that bridge in eps 35, she couldn't also keep her feeling again especially knowing the next day she will sacrifice herself again after her wedding that's why she put her fingers on his face to make smile , it was like her last message to him to remember to smile bcs he just cried on that bridge.. so I totally understand her this part, what pissed me off is just the director didn't give her proper screen time to mourn DFCQ any longer for the ending !ðŸ˜

I'm gonna rewatch it again fully. This show has rapidly took my heart , after ashes of love which I rewatched 3/4 times every year at least, this series has same vibe, I like when both female& male lead equally sacrifice for each other like them! The only thing that didn't satisfied me is the ending, not only because it's too rushed but they didn't give the vibe for XLH to properly mourn DFCQ like he did to XLH when she dies! She just put the moon at her garden & just waiting for it that's it. I want her to mourn him badly like what he did to her. Lol
