I'm a fan but not the kind of fan who forces myself to like everything an artist does I think it's perfectly normal to appreciate someone's work while also disagreeing with some of their career choices.

Acting and singing are two completely different professions, Just as not everyone can become a great actor simply by graduating from an acting academy if they don't have the natural talent, not everyone can become a successful singer just because they train or decide one day that they want to sing. Training can improve technique but it can't magically create the kind of natural vocal ability that separates singers from those who simply don't have that innate talent.
There are idols who have trained for years under professional vocal coaches and still struggle with basic vocal technique or hitting notes consistently. So I find it difficult to understand why some of her fans insist on pushing the idea that she can build a serious singing career because she's training. Hard work is important but talent is just as important in music.

I honestly don't know whether you're saying this because you believe it or because you feel the need to defend her no matter what. she isn't suited to a full time singing career and she'll never reach the level of artists whose careers are built around music because that's simply not where her greatest talent lies.

Her real strength has always been acting and that's where she has the best chance of achieving lasting success. It would be a shame to see such a talented actress devote so much time to a field that doesn't fully showcase what she's best at.

Finally someone understands what I'm trying to say.

I don't think she's managing her public image very well and there's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to connect with her fans, hold concerts and release music occasionally but it feels like she's trying too hard to build a singing career and force it even though she doesn't have the talent for it.

She's investing so much time, energy and effort into vocal training and music and she seems to be taking it very seriously when I believe those same efforts would be much better invested in her acting career because that's where her real strength and potential lie.

I'm not judging her or trying to tell her what she should do. I'm simply expressing my concern as a fan. I want to see her succeed and I believe her best chance of long term success is through acting not singing. Of course it's her career and she's free to make whatever choices she wants. I'm just sharing my opinion because I think it would be a waste if the acting industry lost such a talented actress

It looks like I'm not the only fan who has these concerns and to be clear, I'm not talking about the period when she was sick. I'm talking about what happened after she recovered.
After her recovery, she seemed to shift her focus toward music and let's be honest she doesn't have the talent to build a successful singing career. She keeps putting so much time and effort into vocal training and releasing songs but those same efforts would be far better invested in her acting career which is where her real talent is.

I'm a fan and I have every right to express my opinion. Supporting an artist doesn't mean I have to agree with every career decision they make. I want to see her succeed and that's exactly why I'm concerned about the direction she's taking.

I think you're the one who needs to stop living your life through celebrities. I shared my opinion and all of you are acting as if you have to defend her at all costs by calling me a hater simply because I don't blindly agree with every decision she makes.

What actually surprised me is that many chinese fans seem to have the same concerns and I didn't even know that because I don't use Weibo. My opinion wasn't influenced by anyone else's I came to it on my own.

If your definition of being a fan is defending every decision an artist makes without question then we simply have different definitions of fandom, I prefer to support an artist while still being able to think critically and express my own views.

I don't even use Weibo and I'm not someone who's obsessed with following celebrities' every move. I'm sorry but I think many fans can see what I'm talking about, I understand that you want to defend her no matter what she does but I'm not the kind of fan who blindly loves and supports everything an artist does.

Deliver to what exactly? A singing career? She simply doesn't have the talent for it. As I've said before singing isn't something you can master overnight just because you wake up one day and decide to become a singer and honestly I don't think anyone became her fan because of her songs. She's not Liu Yuning whose career has always been built around music

Yes many celebrities post on XHS but apart from smaller influencers or lesser known celebrities, very few established stars livestream their daily lives so frequently without a specific purpose. Doing it occasionally to promote a project is one thing but doing it constantly without a clear goal risks overexposing her image.

So now, because I don't want to see a talented actress gradually disappear from the industry that means I have no life?
I'm simply expressing concern about her career. It's already been nine months and there won't be any new acting projects from her until next year. By then she'll have been away from the screen for almost two years while other actresses continue to build their careers with strong projects I'm worried she'll lose valuable momentum. I don't want to see her become one of those celebrities who rely too heavily on brand endorsements while putting their acting careers on the back burner. We've seen it happen before. Some actors spent years focusing more on commercial activities than on choosing strong roles. Eventually producers stopped seeing them as priority casting choices and they went years without a truly successful project while other actresses continued to grow by taking better opportunities.

I don't want that to happen to her because I believe she's a talented actress with far more potential than she's currently showing.

When we talk about the most successful actors , yes they stay true to themselves but they also understand the importance of maintaining some level of exclusivity. They don't constantly overexpose themselves. I'm not saying she should become mysterious or disappear from social media. I'm saying I'd rather see people talking about her performances and her dramas than about everything else.

And honestly I don't understand your point because the most successful actors in the world are barely active online so constant exposure is not necessary for success.

I also don't know why you brought up her weight. I wasn't talking about that at all I was talking about her makeup. She looked absolutely beautiful at the Bulgari event but then she went back to the heavy contouring makeup again which it doesn't suit her.

My opinions don't come from hate. They come from wanting the best for her career, I simply don't believe in blindly supporting every decision an artist makes. Fans should be able to express constructive criticism without being labeled as haters.

She's not a singer and she doesn't have the vocal ability for it. You can't become a singer overnight just because you want to, you need genuine talent.

well you're not fully aware of everything that's happened. Lusi mentioned twice that there were competitors trying to take away her endorsements, once during a livestream and again while promoting JURYA . Her friend Raina also made a post implying that a particular artist was trying to harm Lusi's reputation . This won't do her any favors, if anything it risks making her come across like the kind of influencer who builds attention by taking shots at others and I don't think that's the image she should be projecting

I didn't turn my back on her. I'm still looking forward to what she does next.

I never criticized her last year when she was sick because I knew about her condition. I knew she was on medication and couldn't memorize her lines properly . I was happy to see LA become such a hit in china .

my concern is that she seems to be going back and forth without a clear direction for her career. She has released a large number of songs even though singing isn't where her greatest talent lies. As I said there's nothing wrong with releasing a few songs for her fans. My concern is that it feels like she's trying to pursue a full time singing career and I don't think she has the vocal ability to succeed in that field. Her greatest strength has always been acting and that's where she truly shines.

I also just gave my opinion about her makeup, to me it doesn't complement her features, I've seen plenty of fans who share the same opinion . My point is that she now looks more like many other chinese actresses and Douyin influencers, before she had a distinctive look that made her stand out. If her goal is to focus mainly on the domestic chinese market then I can understand that especially since many people in china have praised her current styling but many international fans were drawn to her because she looked and felt different. That's why I think it's worth pointing out that even with the success of LA she didn't seem to attract many new international fans.

I'm not going to pretend those things didn't happen. From my perspective, that kind of behavior doesn't help her image. It can come across as insecure and overly focused on her competitors when I'd rather see her work speak for itself. She once said that she doesn't care about competition and that everyone is a flower in their own way but those comments seemed inconsistent with that message.

I also think it's great that she's trying to balance her personal life and her career. However, I honestly hope she takes a real break from livestreams and social media for a while because they seem to bring her more stress than anything else. I'm not saying she needs to film three dramas every year but I do hope she takes on at least one. The industry moves quickly and there are many actresses who are currently in high demand. At this stage of her career she isn't yet in the position of established actresses who can disappear for years and still return to top projects.

I just don't want to see her become known mainly as a commercial celebrity who relies on endorsements. We've already seen actresses whose acting careers slowed down after filming only one drama a year and eventually they struggled to find projects that matched the success of their earlier work. I hope that doesn't happen to her because I believe she has much more potential than that.

Anyway I just wanted to share my opinion. I still support her and hope she finds a clearer direction for her career.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, this is just my personal opinion as someone who has supported Zhao Lusi for years.
She was the first chinese actress I got to know and I've watched almost all of her works. That's exactly why I feel she's not taking the best direction with her career right now.
I completely understand that she wants to connect with her fans and that's a wonderful thing but the reason most of us became her fans in the first place is because she's an actress not an idol or a full time influencer. Her birthday songs were enjoyable but the rest of her music hasn't been particularly memorable. She keeps releasing songs yet singing and dancing aren't really her strongest talents.

Ever since her illness it feels like she's still trying to figure out what direction she wants to take and she's still searching for her identity as an artist . I don't know whether she currently has a manager but i think she needs someone experienced who can help her make thoughtful long term career decisions . A good manager who knows when to say No to protect her public image and focus on building a lasting career instead of following short term trends .

However things started to change when she began hinting that other actresses were trying to take away her brand endorsements. I think everyone understands that malicious rumors, smear campaigns and industry competition exist but addressing them publicly through vague comments and indirect hints only fuels speculation and in my opinion it hurts her professional image . Rather than clearing things up it only shifts the focus away from her work and creates unnecessary controversy.

Another concern is how much she's exposing herself She has almost no sense of privacy anymore . She livestreams constantly and shares almost every part of her daily life, brings her friends into nearly everything she does and even includes them in some of her brand collaborations. At this point it feels like she's overusing her public image. Actors benefit from maintaining a certain level of mystery but right now she feels more like a content creator than one of the top actresses in the industry.

Then there's the styling. Honestly for the love of God I wish someone would tone down her makeup. The heavy contouring simply doesn't suit her features. That kind of sculpted high glam look works well on faces like Kylie Jenner's but Lusi's charm has always come from her soft and natural appearance.
one of the reasons she became so popular was because she looked fresh and effortlessly different from many other chinese actresses. that natural beauty was part of what made her so recognizable but lately it feels like she's trying too hard to follow beauty trends instead of embracing what made her stand out in the first place and I think she's losing some of that unique charm.

Finally I really hope she starts choosing stronger scripts . Acting is what made people love her and that's where I want to see her focus again. I'm also hoping the rumored drama As Beautiful as You is very different from the novel because personally I found the novel repetitive and not nearly as engaging as her best projects.
I know some people won't agree with my opinion and that's okay but criticism doesn't always come from hate. Sometimes it comes from people who genuinely want to see someone they admire make better choices I still believe Zhao Lusi is one of the most naturally talented actresses of her generation. I just hope her acting becomes the focus again .
