On A Dog and a Plane 1 day ago
Four episodes in and A Dog and a Plane has completely won me over.

What surprised me most is how human it feels. It is chaotic, ridiculous, funny, heartfelt, and sometimes painfully real. One moment it has you laughing at the absurdity of the situation, and the next it quietly slips a scene so relatable it hurts.

The writing understands that heartbreak is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like a man excitedly preparing for an anniversary dinner. Sometimes it looks like someone realizing they have spent years loving a person who never made space for them in return. Sometimes it looks like finally breaking down on a rooftop after holding yourself together for far too long with just a little nudge from someone who sees you as you are.

Newwiee’s performance as Kanit deserves every bit of praise it is getting. He does not simply act the emotion; he lets you watch it happen. His eyes, his micro-expressions, the way his entire face changes before a word is spoken. There are scenes where his inner conflict is communicated more clearly through a glance than through pages of dialogue. Kanit’s joy, insecurity, disappointment, longing, anger, and heartbreak all feel achingly real.

Tay Tawan’s Toto is equally impressive. What could have easily become an over-the-top character instead feels grounded and alive. Toto’s kindness never feels performative. His care for others comes naturally, often showing itself in the smallest moments. Some of the most meaningful scenes are not the dramatic ones, but the quiet moments where Toto reveals a lifetime spent putting everyone else before himself.

And then there is the chemistry.

Not the romantic chemistry. The human chemistry.

The show understands that some relationships are built through shared glances, small acts of care, mutual understanding, and the comfort of simply being there when someone needs you most. That is where A Dog and a Plane truly shines.

The visual storytelling deserves recognition too. The autumn palette surrounding Kanit’s heartbreak, the use of color, the subtle symbolism, the way scenes are allowed to breathe without overexplaining themselves. The show trusts its audience to notice things, and that trust pays off.

Most importantly, A Dog and a Plane feels earned.

Its success does not come from endless promotion or manufactured hype. People are watching because they are genuinely connecting with the characters. They are laughing, crying, theorizing, arguing, and showing up every Friday because they care.

Four episodes in, I am not just invested in the story.

I am invested in these people.

And I cannot wait to see where they take us next.

It’s only the 2nd episode but i absolutely love how human this series is. The funny moments are genuinely funny the chaotic flirting is ridiculous in the best way and out of nowhere it hits you with something so relatable. To watch Kanit excitedly prepare for his anniversary dinner just to be disappointed hurt far more than it should. Toto’s quiet yearning was not something i expected so soon but I cried a little there.
A Dog And A Plane is chaotic, silly , unhinged ,heartfelt and TayNew make it all work. Newwiee makes Kanit’s emotion so real, the hesitation before he speaks, the disappointment he tries to hide, the way his face falls, the joy on his face when he thinks of Lion or even the annoyance yet intrigue he shows towards Toto, his face say everything before a dialogue does. Tay Tawan as Toto doesn’t feel like a performance at all.He is so natural that everything he does feels like he exists. A character that could have easily been so over-the-top instead feels very alive, grounded and surprisingly warm.
I am pleasantly surprised. 18months was worth the wait because, if this is how things are starting, I can’t even imagine what’s coming next. I absolutely cannot wait.

A dog and a plane is a really fun watch with a lot of potential. Even though it’s only on its 1st episode it is already very promising. It’s funny chaotic and so TayNew’esque. I can’t wait to see how their story progresses.
