Think of royal family here like British royal family — they don’t do anything important and are mostly just for show. The royal family here only has status, but little money or power. Chaebols (like FL’s dad’s) have money but no prestige/status. Politicians (like 2ML) have power but no money (not unless they are dirty or come from powerful families). So this is an interesting dynamic.

And I don’t think FL got lucky per se. She’s clearly shown as being very talented from early days (number 1 in Royal Academy) and she’s much more capable than her half-brother. But probably we will see more of that in the coming episodes.

Your other question is valid (and it could be why ultimately happens in the end), but from FL’s point of view why shouldn’t she be in charge of her family’s business if she’s clearly the most capable person by far.

C-drama fans get unhappy when a drama switches to 1 episode per day (instead of regular 2 per day), but it’s worse for K-drama fans (2 per week). But other countries with 1 episode per week are even more torturous (Japan, Philippines, Thailand… even US/Canada).

By supposedly having a secret hotel date with FL, ML caused a scandal that tarnished his reputation and — thus — reputation of the royal family.

Definitely won’t be happy 😃 But I imagine the leads will try to present themselves as a fairy tale couple to improve their reputation. And, let’s be honest, they kind of would be a great couple because FL is more or less a self made person. She’s not a lazy chaebol heiress

For FL, I think she’s in a very precarious position — her family is trying to kick her out, basically, and that would probably result in her losing some (most?) of her wealth because money comes only from her father.

I’m glad they moved into the next phase very quickly. Preview looks exciting (other than her being egged 😢)

I suspect Prime Minister may try to do something to sabotage FL+ML relationship because they keep mentioning that the government holds some power over royal marriages.

For now but seems that she’s interested in that only because of th status & prestige (and like ML said her family had produced four Queens). One of the main things about this drama is that it’s showing how status means everything to the royal family & their relatives. Without status, they aren’t very important because they don’t have wealth (that’s chaebols) or power (that’s politicians).

I can’t wait for them to have dates in Subway like recent dramas love to do with Egg Drop 🤣

If people thing she’s acting cringe, it means she’s doing a great job because that’s FL character in the first two episodes (when it comes to chasing ML in particular). Maybe I need to read some more comments and block some more accounts 😁
